I personally haven't done it, but have heard it was a great experience from a reputable company.

I met the owners of the company recently (they're local) and they all seemed like stand-up guys.

They took a few of my co-workers out in the 430 and Gallardo, and apparently these guys can drive!

One was an ex-racer and got the 430 far up into triple-digit speeds on some local back roads without skipping a beat.

If I had the money, i'd sign up in a heartbeat!

Total: $1,295 - Not bad but only 30min per car. Also one of them is with you at all time. Probably going to tell you to slow down a lot and you won't feel comfortable enjoying the car to the fullest. One of the guys had his wife give this to him as an anniversary gift. He said, they wouldn't let them take the car above 4500-5000 RPM max. They had also planned out a roads with max speed limit of 45MPH.

Personally I would want to enjoy the car. So I'd rather just go to http://www.capitaldreamcars.com/ourcars/index.asp and Rent a Gallardo or 360 for a full day than have a few exotics for a few hours. Not to mention have someone next to me constantly eying my speedo and gear changes.

I'm friends with one of the partners and if you're interested I can put you in touch with him. He had offered discounts before but I don't know if that still applies. PM me if you're interested and I'll put you in touch with him.

The Gotham Dream Car Tour was a whole lot better than the WC driving event...do the Gotham one if you are going to do this type of thing. Plus Gotham only charged like under a grand, which is a great deal in my opinion. They are a great fun group of guys too, and i dont think they made much profit off of it either. We had a blast and are going to do it again next summer since they will probably have a ton of different cars..

whichever one you do, make sure you have 5 g's put away you can afford to blow if you crash or something happens, they will take that on your credit card, then you can file that against your insurance. i think 1 or 2 people did this over the summer. one was with the Z06 and some guy blew the clutch in the Murci by down shifting to 1st gear at 50 mph or something stupid. That ended up costing him 6 or 7 grand.

I would think the Lambo would have some kind of safety feature to prevent that---My 355 has this feature, It will only allow me to downshift to a gear that the motor can handle---So I couldn't go down from 5th at 80mph to 1st---It would allow me to go down to maybe 3rd or so...

Any info on the Gotham one??---Kinda like the idea of the other one that basically comes to me--Don't have to travel more than 30-40 minutes away...

I did it. Highly recommended. probably don't let you do this anymore though. When i did it with wcd there was no deposit. We trashed the engine in the aston in my group. And knowing how i don't like vettes, you can imagine what I was doing with that Z06.

i love when people post bull****. Dude, if you didn't do it, why would you make statements like that? It's ignorant and might keep somebody from doing something they would really enjoy. I can't speak for the rules now, but when i did it last year, my dad was sitting next to me on most of the rides. he was indeed telling me to slow down, but i didn't listen. In fact on one ride, i had didier theys(winner at daytona and sebring) sitting next to me in a f430 and i was doing 145mph. There was a bentley GT and a gallardo in front of me doing the same thing. You are not gonna have that experience at capitol dream cars. Unless they changed the rules dramatically this year, they let you ride with a partner. They usually only have a rep in the first car. here is another pic to get me banned.

I'd put some gas in that red Ford GT pretty soon!
At 135 mph, the mpg factor has to be getting pretty worse.
At least you could coast for quite a ways when the fuel runs out. :)

ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH GOTHAM IS THAT THEY WANT YOUR SS# and I will not disclose it. If they will not accepy my Platinum AX with a substantial deposit than I'm not interested. This is my personal opinion and others may not have a problem with it and that is okay. This is just how I feel personally.

I might be wrong on this but I believe they do background checks, credit checks, etc requiring the SS#

I personally participated in this event in July 2007 from Fort Washington,Pa. I drove the Gallardo spyder , Noble, GT3, Vantage, Mclaren SLR & the Ferrari 430 . We drove on back roads near the Delaware river . At one point following the lowner in the lead car we hit speeds over 100 . I was in the Vantage with my stepson . The only car that they had supervion was in the SLR . I highly reccomend this group . It was very proffesional, catered lunch , and small crystal trophy . One of my best days this year . You may bring a guest as a passanger . The owners take the lead vehicle & the last vehicle and communicate with walkie talkies . I plan on doing this again.

You don't actually need SSN's to do credit checks these days.

I used to run a similar event. People loved it. I would consider doing the one coming up in July.
