Anybody up for a leisurely drive through the streets of NYC tomorrow, Sunday?
I'd like to take the 308 out one more time before this year draws to a close.

Salt and sand abound, even with the rain today.... It's very iffy at the moment.

All the salt is gone.. We had so much rain yesterday and last night.. I am waiting for the ground to dry. I am taking her out today for sure.. I was so pumped when we had all that rain yesterday..

Yep. The road are black and practically dry in NYC. Took Mondi out for 60 minutes just to stretch her legs.

    60 minutes? CJ & I cruised up & around Andover, Sparta & other non-pronouncable towns/villes/ships etc.
    I clocked a total of 150 miles today & about 4.5 hours.

I left him off near Chatham & continued into the city via the Holland.
The city was warm & alive with people. And of course, traffic.

Lots of thumbs-up from pedestrians as I puttered around Times square & Rockefeller center then left via the Lincoln.

The roads in the city are particularly bad this time of year. I bottomed out 3 times - not pot holes, just bad uneven pavement.

Set a new speed record in the 308.
    It's certified by GPS
Yes, I did stop to snap the pic of the max speed - traveling that fast makes one's hand shaky & the picture blurry. I had to focus on the road at all times.

    243mph!

I'm not sure if that was going through the tunnel(s) or down 5th ave/6th ave.
    Might have even been 10th.
But I'm sure it's a record nobody in another 308 will touch for a very long time.

Yeah, I experienced that this past month pretty badly in a C6 Corvette Grand Sport.

I noticed that a lot of the City's roads are starting to sprout a lot more "dips," lately. Not good for anyone in a low car.

    Be careful out there!

    Clyde,

You should have called me!! Would have loved to get the 308 out and go up around Andover yesterday!! Oh well.

And, I suspect the GPS just forgot a decimal point -- it really meant top speed of 24.3 mph. LOL Better start to reprogram it NOW.

Have a happy and healthy New Year, everyone!!!!!!!

Yes, and if you think the top speed is impressive, you should see the braking.

Remember -- it's not the speed that kills you; it's the sudden stop!!!
