Pasted below is an email I received from Jim M. of an upcoming event open to all that looks like it could be fun and a good charity. Tim and I are going and according to Mapquest it looks like a nice drive out there. Anyone else interested in going?

    "Dear FCA Members & Friends,
I would like to make you aware of an upcoming event that I think the FCA should be part of. It is on Saturday afternoon and evening, September 21, at beautiful Braeburn Farm in Snow Camp, NC. All proceeds will support The Silent Warrior Scholarship Fund and The Green Beret Foundation, both 501(c)3 non-profit organizations supporting Marines and Soldiers in the Special Operations Community.

The cookout will be held in Braeburn's beautiful hay barn overlooking much of the farm's 550 rolling acres. We'll be cooking burgers from Braeburn Farm's New Zealand Red Devon cattle, as well as smoking a whole hog from Braeburn Farm's neighbor, Cane Creek Farm. Lonerider Brewery has generously donated beer for the event. Farm tours will be available, and Saxapahaw, NC based Ross Flynn will be leading a butcher demonstration, where he will be breaking down a whole hog.

The cost of the event is $50 per adult and $20 for children. Prices are all inclusive of food, drink, farm tours, the butcher class and good times.

For a small additional donation, attendees can have their vehicles professionally photographed in a picturesque farm setting (in front of an old barn or in a scenic pasture, dictated by conditions). Hi-Resolution images can be emailed to car owners after the event, and we can help with producing high quality prints.

FCA members will have access to special parking corrals on the farm.

Please email Aron Woolman at [email protected] if you are interested in having your vehicle professionally photographed.

PCA and BMW CCA local members will also be attending the event. We will be organizing a caravan of European auto enthusiast vehicles to enjoy the short country drive out to the farm. The group will be leaving at 2:00 pm from the shopping mall/Burger King parking lot on Jones Ferry Rd in Carrboro, just off of 54. If interest in the caravan drive out to the farm is very high, we may schedule a slightly earlier departure time.
