Drive down to Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance - Mid March

Each March, a buddy and I make the annual trek from Charlotte to North Florida to attend the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Since it is only
a six hour drive, we take a car rather than flying and enjoy the ride. This
year, we're heavily considering driving a Ferrari down. I thought I'd throw the
idea out there if any of you may wish to join in this year. You certainly don't
have to drive a toy... but think of the fun!

We plan to leave about mid-morning Friday, March 11 and return on Monday, March
14. Each way, we stop at a GREAT home cookin' buffet off I-95 - mmmmm, nanner
puddin'!! We plan to stay at the Hampton Inn in Fernandina Beach which partly
has covered parking and is within walking distance to various
restaurants/watering holes. It's also a short drive to the Ritz Carlton which is
the host venue.

Quite simply, this is a world class event, second only to Pebble Beach (some
even say better). The BEST of the BEST are on display... Duesenbergs, Auburns,
Bugattis, Delahayes, and much, much more. Of course, there are plenty of
Ferraris in the mix as well! Check out www.ameliaconcours.org for more

events as well as the Concours on Sunday.

Racing champion Bobby Rahal is this year's honoree. Along with all the other
cars on display, there will be a special section featuring his racers. Also,
it's very common to run into many other legends on the grounds... Bobby Unser,
Hurley Haywood, Brian Redman, Brock Yates, and George Barris just to name a few.
