Worked for me this morning...great video. People ask "when are you going to sell the 308 and buy [fill in the blank] because it's faster!" I don't want to sell the 308...it has all the basic elements that makes a sports car what it needs to be.
Yup...I've had my Dino GT4 since 1981...rescued it off of a used car lot then...it has traveled through time with me....... Lucky Man https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH6TJU0qWoY
I enjoyed the video thoroughly, Spencer! Many thanks for sharing it with the group. Admittedly, I smiled a little bit when there were scenes of his car driving away, down a winding road, and a small puff of white smoke would come from the exhaust pipes...a good reminder that these are all old cars, and (save for maybe Al's masterpieces) aren't perfect - even the ones people rave about and make amazing videos about.
Really enjoyed the video. Never heard of John Pogson before though. Is he a well-known character in Ferrari or racing circles?
The fact is there are more and more documented acts of appreciation for the GT4. I am happy to share and always post 308 videos.
John Pogson's a well known Ferrari Indie in Yorkshire, UK. He has raced various cars including a 308, F40 and 355 Challenge with some success. It's interesting how he jacked up the rear end. I know he talked about positive camber. Wouldn't this make it worse? Not to say this guy doesn't know his stuff but I don't get it...
Originally he stated they came with positive camber and now he has added negative. I have a very similar set up. As you know they are all fully adjustable with shims and the Koni shock can be adjusted though you have to remove the springs. In the FOC race regulations it give guidance on what values you can adjust to for each racing class. I used these guides for mine to achieve what I like. Also added uprated springs, roll bars and bushing and dialed in a little more castor and camber as well. John Podgson knows his stuff and has a good reputation here in UK. He is also right, it is one of the best handling cars that Ferrari produced. In the modern world I just wished it was about 50bhp more, though I know this can be achieved today but costs some £££. Great Vid and I have shared it on Facebook, felt rather proud that I have owned mine now for 21yrs, bought when I was in my early 20's. Hope from an investment point of view they finally get to be sought after, it's not about the money though.
I've owned mine for nearly 31 years and I bought it when I was 25. I'm glad that the rest of the world is now catching up with our opinion of it!
Hi Patrick I bow to your years! Great to here of another long term UK owner. I would say that there are a very limited few if us in the UK who have owned these great little cars for a long time. Fell out of love with mine this year with an annoying intermittent misfire. 1st problem for many years, it's now fixed and the love affair is back on again.
I'm in awe of the long term owners. I only bought mine in March 2014 though it had been a long term ambition. I love talking to other GT4 owners that I meet at various events and comparing notes. Me in mine at Prescott a couple of months ago. Image Unavailable, Please Login
cool video- the cinematography is great. these cars are hard to capture the lines and this vid does a very good job of it. The engine sound and is picked up so well! One of my new favorite videos. I def. liked the rear zoom in at the cockpit! effing cool. thanks to all who posted.
