I've lost one of my little fairings ( part number 144816); very annoying! I understand these are long ago "no longer available"; other than waiting for one to come on the market, has anybody recreated these? Bit of 3D printing maybe? Cheers Adrian
Too late now but these fairings are lost because their ball-pins are not fully engaged between the two spring wires on installation. If the balls are dry and slightly corroded, they will not slide in-between the springs (due to high friction) when the fairing is pushed on but will engage partly and bend the springs somewhat inwards. Then just wait for the chance to pop out. I found that, if before installing the fairing, you brush any corrosion off and apply a bit of grease to the balls, the fairing will slide in fully and easily. Hopefully, you will find them on Ebay at some point.
