I hoping for a name that 99% of you won't know for this USF1 team - John Edwards. John was part of the original Red Bull development program when he was 13. He was winning races in the Skip Barber Mazda series when he was 12. Red Bull sent him to Italy to race karts then to other Formula series. When the Red Bull program was abandoned, he came back to the States and has been winning in Star Mazda & Atlantics

Graham and Marco if it must be two Americans. Danica has decent pace over one lap but drops off. I doubt she'll ever be fit enough for F1. If not, then Helio or Dixon in the other seat. Alex Wurtz as the tester.

how about SB? he just left F1 this season.

    SP, Montoya, SB, JV

Man that is 4 F1 drivers from states who got fired.

I think SP and SB is best bet.

drivers are secondary.....firstly they must make it to the grid!!!

Danica said she's not interested and no one ever contacted her; JPM has a good thing going with Chip; Marco is a bad bet; Bourdais is driving in the Super League (he took home the €100,000 on offer after winning the Super Final at Estoril on Sunday); Alex is a very strong contender; Jonathan Summerton is also a good candidate as is Graham Rahal. Graham would be a very good representative of the US as would Summerton - both are articulate, nice looking guys and are good at what they do.

They'd still have to butter the car to get him in... :D

Like any new team they need at least one senior driver who can develop the car. Has-beens like DC, JPM or Villeneuve are ideal. Second car can go to a young hot shot, American probably.

Basically the combo from Driven. :)

I much rather give the 2nd seat away to a young untested guy than a proven looser like Speed or Bourdais. We know they don't have it, so why wasting another seat on them?

Because Speedo is the fastest US formula car driver.
    And he has experience.
I think he could be had cheap. Or bring $.
Forget his percieved personality. It grates on me as well. Look at the deal.

I don't know what's funnier, the idea of Tony Stewart in F1 or the image of buttering the car to squeeze him in.

It's not just that I find Speed vomit enducing from his personality, but he also is simply not fast.

Possibly; but he's the fastest "we" have.

Not sure about that. Andretti might be faster.

And I see "we" a bit bigger anyway: I consider Villeneuve and JPM as "us" as well. Just as we considered Seabass as one of ours. And those two definitely would be faster.

If they put Danica Patrick in the car I will be actively cheering against them. She cant even win races in Indy, she would be an embarrassment in F1. It has nothing to do with being a woman, everything to do with being a mediocre race driver and a prima donna. If she spent more time on the track and less time posing for FHM and Maxim she could be great.
I would love to see what Jeff Gordan could do in the car, given some time to develop a feel for it and build the necessary skills, but he is to old for the teams stated goals.
