I need some insight on a problem with the driver side window on my 348 spyder. The driver sider window will not go down - I can hear the relay clicking but nothing happens, nor will the window drop when the top is opened (passenger side works). I pulled the wires to the window motor and a switch the polarity and window will go down - so motor is good. I have cleaned the terminals on the molex connector on the door hinges and at the relay box, there is no voltage going to the motor when the switch is pressed down. Is there a microswitch in the door frame that may be defeating the up motion of the motor?

You say you cleaned the terminals on the connector by the door hinge - did you pull back the rubber "bellows" to look at the back of the pins, where the wires connect to them? It's quite common to find a wire has actually broken off the pin. Or for another test, just turn the key on with the door open, then hold the switch in the "down" position, and jiggle the wiring bundle at the bellows with your other hand. In many cases, the window will start working when contact is made. That isn't a fix, it's just a test. Try it!

Throw a switch at it as well... They are cheap and probably are 10 years old anyway. This corrected my intermittant window issues... www.ricambiamerica.com

I had that problem at one point too.I pulled the wiring harness off to see that 3 wires had pulled out of their holes and I didnt know which wire went where. After buggering around for hours I finally took the front wheel off, looked at the other side of the harness then was able to color code back to the other side, and presto. What I learned is that the way these wires connect from one side to the other is a terrible desighn. They HAD to know at the factory that this harness would have a very limitted lifespan .Its clear that the more times the door is opened and closed ,the sooner the stress on the wires willtake its toll.In fact I avoid openning the door fully unless I have to cause I know its going to happen again. So for my fellow 348 owners,if you run into weird electrical problems with windows and locks and such, thats a good first place to look. And get your bifocals ready if your over 40 like me.ha ha
