    My license expired on my birthday at the end of last month and I forgot to renew it before it expired. Do any of you know if the state is going to make me take a test to get another one or will they just let me renew it late?

    They'll probably just renew with a penalty. Good luck though. Any of the open DMV's will likely be an all day affair! I've been trying to get my motorcycle endorsement for a month now, and every time I go there are 40-50 people WAITING OUTSIDE JUST TO GET INTO THE LINE INSIDE THE BUILDING!!!!!!!! It's freaking CRAZY!

    So true! A friend of mine went to the DMV the other day and just turned around when he saw the line going out of the door and around the side of the building :eek:

    IKE check the DMV in MAndeville. It should be quicker but ya never know.

    How close are you to Hahnville. I went there from N.O. to get my license and there was only about 10 people there. You should not have to take the test again. And I think right now they are suspending any late fees due to people being displaced by Katrina.

    If you are going to be close to Baton Rouge, there's an "Express" DMV office on the corner of Highland Rd and Perkins Rd that really is EXPRESS! I took my wife there last month and we were in and out in 20 minutes!

    Really? Heck, it might be better to drive all the way there, get in and out in 20 minutes, and drive back to New Orleans. At least you can listen to music of your choice on the drive and not have to stand shoulder to shoulder for hours in a crowded room :)

    I took a member of our BR hurricane refugee party there to get a new license after he lost his about one week after the hurricane, and we were in and out inside of 15 minutes.

    I will be in town 24th-26th. Would LOVE to do a photoshoot that weekend (next weekend) if the car is in town :) And needless to say, I would love to spend some time with you regardless!!! I think I smell an opportunity for Suez to redeem himself on PGR3....!

    is saturday or sunday best for this? would you be able to do it earlier in the day (not after 7 at night)? I unfortunately will be working during the nights that weekend... :(

    AFIK right now either day is OK. I'll check with the boss to be sure. If the weather permits, I may go ride the dirt bike in the AM of Sat, so an early afternoon deal will work.

    Well, I was going to go last week and take care of my license but put it off. I went today to the Mandeville DMV at 12:30. I was done in under 15 minutes. There was about 10 people in there and I was at the back of the line. Then the lady calls for anyone there for license renewals and three of us go up. Two women and me. The first lady couldn't see so she got sent back to wait, the second didn't know she needed cash; I guess the signs saying so didn't tip her off, so then it was my turn. I got done in about 3 minutes. I stayed a little longer to fill out another voter registration form just to make sure that was right. While I was doing that they called for people renewing registrations. All the people with more complex stuff still had to wait until their number was called.

    So if you guys have something to go to the DMV for Mandeville is pretty quick, at least today it was.
