I can move the seat back and forth and adjust the backrest as well as tilt the front part of the seat closest to steering wheel, however I can’t raise the level of the seat.

when I try and raise the seat I can here a clicking sound but nothing happens. Same sound is heard when I move the seat up and back but it actually
    Moves.

there is also a plug coming out of the floor that has now where to plug into either. I took some pics below.

I was thinking the motor may have been dead but unlikely as I can tilt the front of the seat up.

It’s annoying as I am fairly low. I went as far as removing the seat to look underneath and noticed a plug that was not connected, but there is nowhere to plug into unless I remove one of the plugs to the motors. I was thinking this spare plug is maybe for seats with air conditioning as mine does not have it. Any help here is appreciated.

If your hear a repetitive clicking sound, then it's not a problem of plug being connected, as the electric motor seems to be getting the power. It sounds like the gears are not matching properly and therefore slipping one tooth at a time, hence the clicking sound. It can be a broken gear, or a broken housing, or something misaligned.

I fixed this by taking a motor out of an e92 m3. cost was 18 bucks and had to rewire.
