    Could anyone tell me the differences in the 80s 308 models and the Mondails. I wa looking at both as my first ferrari and was told the Mondails had alot of issues. Are the drivetrains different? Any help given would be great. Thanks

    Hi, I believe drivetrain and suspension are the same. Hope you get the right car! :)

    they are...EXCEPT for some 3.2 mondials. The engine can be removed from the bottom of the car. It was a test for the upcoming Mondial T

    great thanks a bunch . So with that being said. Nobody can say the mondail is and less reliable then the 308 as far as drivetrain goes?

    Or is either just not a good choice for my first car?

    A car that has been properly serviced [with documents] is a reliable car.
    A car that passes a PPI is a reliable car. I wouldn't say that a buyer who wants a "reliable" Ferrari heads for certain models.
    A 308 or Mondial is an excellent way to become a first-time owner.

    great. Thanks alot. this is something I will be doing within the next year but im trying to get all the insite possible now. Any other info would be great.

    well Im new to Ferrari's in general so I dont have much idea as to various models. Im just trying to get general information.

    this is a good plan. I researched these cars for @a year before committing. The research and ensuing car search was a blast! :)

    thanks again. I have always liked the styling of the 308 but hear both good and bad about the car and figured this would be the place to get the right info.

    There have been some incorrect statements in the thread above. 308's/328's and Mondials of the same year have the same drivetrains. They, of course, vary from year to year. Mondials are known to have more difficulties with the electrical system, which I am sorry to say is absolutely true. The Mondials do have the advantage of the engine/transmission being mounted into a subframe that can be dropped as a complete unit.

    One thing is they look nothing alike-- go with what appeals to you. there are plenty of beautiful examples of each out there ready to be bought.
