When the car is cold, I'm hearing a loud, hollow-sounding rattle as the clutch is engaged. I also hear what is, I think, a higher frequency, vibrating version of the same noise (though much less loud) when coasting to a stop in first or second gear (this seems to remain even after the car warms up). Could it be the throw-out bearing, or something else? Other than the noise, everything seems normal.

Throw out bearing, If I recall correctly, can be audibly diagnosed by putting the car in neutral, and letting in and out the clutch. It'll make noise when you do that, out of gear, that's easier to hear than when moving.

Noises, described third party, are tough to decode, but I'm sure there are plenty of guys here who will give it a shot.

I do not have a clue as to what the other noises might be.
