If you are a Ferrari owner you probably like to drive fast every now and then, as soon as the circumstances are good. But what about when you're in your daily driver? Assuming that your daily driver isn't a Ferrari of course :) Do you like driving faster than the speed limit permits on public roads in your "regular" car too when you get the oppurtunity or when the road conditions allow it ?

I wonder if there are Ferrari owners who drive fast in their Ferrari but not in their everyday car... or vice versa? Or owners who don't drive fast that often or not fast at all on public roads, only on trackdays maybe? Some Ferrari's are only used for cruising?

Also, what about the enthousiasts who don't own a Ferrari yet... do you like to drive fast in your car?
I must admit it's hard for me to resist not to exceed the speed limit in my Alfa 156... sometimes :D;)

Of course the answer on this question also depends a lot on the law enforcement in your country... ;) 190km/u can be risky in Norway fe but not a big deal at all in Germany...
And "speed" is relative off course... you can't compare the capabilities of a sportscar with those of a city-runner but both are able to exceed the speed limit in many occassions, on various roads, in various countries... 150 is nothing compared to 250 but both are actually too fast on a 100 limit road...

Usually when I drive my daily driver the traffic is dense. I am happy when I can drive 100 km/h. But I don't consider myself as a fast driver. I think that I am more a defensive driver.

When you drive about 80.000km a year, like me, you learn to drive more defensivly. On public roads (50, 80 or 100km) I mostly drive normal speeds.
On the highway (120km allowed in NL) I mostly drive about 140-150.
Since radardetection isn't allowed anymore my speed went down very much. :D
Mostly I drive 400 a 500km a week on the german highways. Then I can drive topspeed all the time.

and really: I think I am a very slow driver in my Mondial. I really treath it like a baby and I am very carefull. Never drive topspeed. Only once tried 200+ on the belgium highway between Verviers to Liege.
In the Mondial I am more a cruiser................. ;)

Don't do that again in Belgium. If you want to stretch her legs again go to Germany. Belgian law has changed for driving fast. It will probably cost you your license.

I think most of us call ourselves good, defensive drivers ;)
Since I got my driving license about 10years ago I covered about 700.000km's in various cars from city cars to sportscars, from minibuses to 4x4's (mostly not mine ;)) Indeed, if you're on the road frequently you learn to be careful in changing traffic and weather conditions. You also see a lot of crazy people acting stupid on the road and you anticipate on that and on possible risks.

I ussually follow the traffic flow in busy daily traffic or unknown roads, drive just above the speed limit (+10/+20km) on familiar roads outside the town center when traffic is normal, and never speed when my son is aboard but... when I'm alone on well known highways when the road is clear in the evening... I let go "sometimes"... :) My Alfa says "*beep*beep*beep*you've exceeded the speed limit" then :D

I think it's very difficult to drive 120 in a Ferrari... when I drove the 355 Spider and the 328GTS a few times in the past I always heared the engine moaning; "faster, faster, let me go faster..." :)

Like I said before, I like just cruising very much in the Mondial.
But of course, the Mondial 8 is not a new 400+bhp modern Ferrari or a V12 Testarossa. In these cars it will be much more difficult to drive 'just' 120km/h.
At least I think, never drove one.........................:(

    LOL:D:D:D

I usuall drive 20 km/h more than allowed because if they get me its just 20 or 30 €. But of course only if the traffixc allows it and I know the roads I drive because they are every day the same ones.
On the Autobahn I drive sometimes a little bit too fast, especially on sunday mornings at 8 o'clock (2 or 3 times a year when I vistit my grandparents) :) But until know I was luky enough and they didn't get me.

Well, actually I enjoyed myself very well cruising on some nice B-roads too :D Also because that way I could get to learn the car more... and it was even nice to be stuck in traffic with those cars now I get to think of it again :D

But on some ""safe"" highways I really couldn't resist... certainly not when some Bmw's and Porsches fe were overtaking me :D I had to take them back :D:eek:

    Eurhm, yes i admit that i drive fast sometimes!! :p :D ;)
BUT, only when the circumstances allow it!!!
If i ever own my own Ferrari, i don't think i will be changing my way of driving!
A sportscar is made to drive fast, so why wouldn't you use it for that? I really don't get it if people say they NEVER drive their Ferrari fast!??
But each to its own ofcourse!
