Sounds silly, but mechanic's gloves which can be had at any hardware store work great for me. They are cheap - 15-20 bucks-, I can get a good fit, and not worry about getting them dirty when around the car, yard or whatever. Coach makes a very fine traditional driving glove, but after I ruined my last pair I have gone to cheap alternatives. Another option I use is cop gloves. These can be obtained at many motorcycle shops and I like them because they are not real expensive, are very sturdy, and look kind of cool with the way they fit right at the bend in your wrist.

If you are good at web searching, look for various manufacturers of kangaroo leather gloves. I don't normally wear gloves to drive, but do to ride, and k-leather is thinner, more supple and grips better than cowhide; it also doesn't bunch up in the palm, which can be very fatiguing. There are any number of companies that also make replica string-backed gloves, eg Hammacher-Shlemmer carries them.

Both men’s and women’s. Great quality on the gloves. My girlfriend and I were at the mall and stopped in to look. They had more in the store than on the site. They also had some really cute fingerless gloves in suede with the plumb/purple color that's in for women. Had they had her size I would have bought her a pair.

    Golf gloves.

Usually thin leather and come in many colours & designs. Remove the naff golf logo (if any) and replace with a Ferrari emblem.

Buy a left and a right. Great thing is, if you loose one you don't need to buy another pair...

"Nerd" used to be a four letter word.

    Now it's a six figure one. :D

I went with Wilson's for my latest pair. (The Alfa has out-lasted three pair of driving gloves.)

I second the motion on the Official Ferrari Gloves. They might cost a pretty penny, but comon you drive a Ferrari, and anything else would just be subpar!

Let me tell you, in my line of work (corporate finance), I see that on a regular basis. It's the so called NERDS that make the seven figure deals.

Like Bill Gates once said: "Be nice to nerds, you'll probably be working for one."

what advantage do your leather driving gloves provide other then making you look like a tool on the street?

It’s hard to drive when you fingers are numb & so dry they slip right off the steering wheel. Plus, I like to go topless even in winter.

Same advantage as having "STUDENT DRIVER" on the back of a 'Vette... LOL

Seriously, better grip on the wheel especially when cold. Short trips in the TR, gloves do not go on. Long trips, gloves go on.

Leather steering wheel covers don't last as long as Ferraris, if you get your sweaty palms all over them every day.

And if your palms aren't sweating when you're driving a Ferrari, then you're not doing it right. ;)

Seriously, I use leather driving gloves on the varnished wood Alfa steering wheel, and on the Ferrari leather covered wheel when it's been sitting out in the sun (hot!), and when I drive it in the rain (humid/wet).

The leather wheel cover on my Celica AllTrac lasted about 10 years before it started coming apart. (Remember that 328s are already at least 15 years old.) I've owned the Alfa for 25 years, and it's out-lasted three pair of driving gloves (and counting).

Relying on a leather wheel cover is fine for a ricer you're only keeping for five years or less. But for "permanent fixture" cars like Ferraris, you want to let the cheap gloves take the abuse, rather than the wheel.

That's a lame excuse for looking like a tool, replace or retrim the wheel when it wears out.
To each his own, but I wouldn't be seen dead on the street with driving gloves. Reminds me of a pommy git wearing a silly cap, lace up gloves in a Triumph or MG convertible.
On the track is a different matter, but then use proper racing gloves.
