The pedals on this car (Modena) are even closer together than my blown/injected NSX, and my regular tennis shoes feel clunky while driving. I can feel the wide edges hitting pedals I don't want to hit. Consequently, I am doing some research on driving shoes. Does anyone out there wear the Puma Ferrari driving shoes? Impressions? Alternatives? And, does the general driving population favor high tops or low.
    Thanks!

First, do a search. There's a ton of info on this topic, much of it very recent.

Second, welcome to Ferrari ownership! Dealers should include a proper pair of driving shoes with every purchase, regular street shoes just won't do.

Thank you for the advice. I did a search, but the results were more links than personal impressions.

I have puma speed cats. Very comfortable, almost like wearing slipper. Very thin and narrow sole allows easy heel toe work. Mine are black with white stripe. I could not bring myself to buy the Ferrari ones.

I have Puma Circats. They are narrow enough to suffice. The rigid bottom is also a plus. Another pair I have is the Adidas Goodyear/Monaco, also with a rigid bottom.

For dress, I like Ferragamo, Prada and Tod's. I'm sure there are a lot of others that are worthy of mention as well.

I prefer low tops, just because of the look and feel.

I've never driven with Pumas, but I use Pilotis, and absolutely love them.

Banana Republic has some narrow thin sole shoes that I wear every time I drive my car. They are classier than a tennis shoe, ie Puma, and are remarkably thin for great pedal feel and no unintended heel toes.

There is another consideration. Did someone move your pedals?

    Mike,

Check out the Puma store at Valley Fair Mall - they have the speedcats in many different styles/colors (unfortunately, just not the Ferrari ones anymore). The men's shoe section at Nordstrom also carries other brands, like the Adidias mentioned above, that you might be interested in.

I actually wear an Adidas martial-arts shoe - looks almost just like a driving shoe, but the sole is a bit firmer and the rest of the shoe very thin and soft.

Macy's also carries Puma, and they are often on sale. I think I paid about $50 for the red and silver pair I was wearing last weekend. They do run a half size small.

I got some nice 'Coach' shoes at bloomingdales that look like the Puma driving shoes. Probably not as good for driving as the Puma, but they will work for moderate driving and a night on the town. They are also narrow enough to allow you to step on one pedal at a time.

I have a pair of the Fila Micheal Scumacher shoes and a pair of OMP high tops. The Filas are OK, but feet get sore after wearing for long periods. The OMPs have a bit more support and have been my favorite by far once they were broken in.

I have been looking for a driving shoe, for the primary reason that my feet are extra wide. I could get away with a 10 1/2 but I cant find a shoe wide enough without going up a full size in a "W". Do any of the driving shoe companies offer shoes in widths other than just "W" ? Something in an E or 2E. I really like the Pumas, was looking at some, but they are just too narrow. I just havnt come across any that list widths.
