Hi! Found this amazing forum a few days ago after I bought my first Ferrari (FF). Truly amazing car that I hope I can own for many years without going bankrupt with all the common failures.. ;)

I live in the Nordics and I was planning on driving it in the winter. Not like one day, I mean every day all winter. Probably in show for about 3 months. Every year. Is it really built for that or is it just a PR thing?

Also, another question. I've read a lot of threads about the FF, and a lot about it draining the battery and that one should keep the tender plugged in as much as possible, but I can't find an answer of how many days I can actually leave the car without charging it? I left it this week for about 5 days and it seemed fine when I drove it today. Is that fine or should I plug it in as soon I know I'm not gonna drive it tomorrow?

Drove my 2013 in Canadian winters almost every day for 2 years … 7,500 km each season with no problems… so much fun …

I'm Swedish, but live in LA since many years back. I owned a FF for 4 years here in LA and used it as a daily driver, had no other car. I would just drive it - Stockholm winters aren't that bad so I think you'll be fine. Yes, there are some reported issues with the car, but fingers crossed you won't experience them. I would always put it on the trickle charger though. Just my 2 cents. Congrats on the FF and enjoy!

I've had my FF for two winters but have only been able to drive it in one snowstorm. The car drove really well with new Michelin snow tires.

On several occasions my car has sat for 5 to 7 days with no problem with the battery,

    Välkommen till forumet :)

Well I live in Stockholm, and have a FF since 2016 - year round - no problem, just go. Great car during winter time by the way!

Battery: Well, it will partly depend on how old the battery is. I used the Ferrari original battery for 4 years - changed to a Varta, and easily 10 days. I have not tried anything more than 10 days, however based on how (bad) the Ferrari original battery worked it failed about day 12 - with gremlins before that. 10 days with the Varta and no gremlins. So the end recommendation: If you leave your car for more than a week, and maybe more, then put it on the trickle charger. Less than a week, do not bother, but only if the battery is in good condition. Is it an old Ferrari Original battery, I would clearly recommend a brand new battery...!

Thank you guys! Nice to see a few Swedes here :)

Looking forward to go out sliding this winder!

The battery was changed by the previous owner just a few months before I bought it, and when I left it 5 days last week it was all fine, so it seems fresh. I will try to use the tender as soon as I'll leave it more than a few days, and definitely more than a week.

I also make an effort to start my 2014' FF, and drive for a bit at least once a week... I do not have the option of using the trickle charge due to location of where it is parked, but I had the interstate battery installed and it is strong and reliable... so far no start up issues and no trickle charger... then again it is never actually winter in Hawaii so I have that going for me as well... enjoy.

Hawaii is a great place for a Ferrari... the downside is the roads are atrocious, so tires and rims can suffer...so far so good for me, but fellow drivers here have not been so lucky... enjoy

Keep it in manual and below 5th gear where AWD disengages. In Auto mode, MPG is more important than AWD so you could easily find yourself in rear wheel drive around town when you actually want grip/traction. It's great in the snow.
