    It's `top down` weather this coming Sunday!

Sunny skies and 71 degrees ... that's the forecast for April 19th. A great day to drop your top and soak up some sun. In case you haven't heard, there's a Spyder & Sports Car Show at the "Triple X Root Beer Drive-In" in Issaquah from 9am - 4pm. What makes this special is that it's limited to all makes of ~2-Seat Convertibles~. Go ahead, try to sneak in a 4-Seat Convertible if you have one.

Email your registration to: [email protected] [include your name, address, phone number, and vehicle info - year, make & model]. There are no entry or spectator fees. Questions? Call Marc at 206-427-2520.

Can you say "in contrast"? Imagine your Ferrari parked next to an MGA. Or, a NSX in juxtaposition with a Triumph TR4. BTW, while we're on the subject, check out page 32 of the April 6th issue of Autoweek ["Here are 40 more convertibles to choose from for 2009"].

I drove my Maserati spyder out to the 'Drop your Top" car show. The usual generic mr-2's, some very nice Austin Healys, assorted Corvettes, 2 real Ferraris, and my Maserati. The weather was warm and mostly sunny. Others did drive thrus, a interesting rebodied Corvette ala Ferrari Daytona. A handbuilt Ford GT-40 repro very nice not completed yet but very nice fabrication. The show was fun and the venue was perfect. The food was good and plentiful. All in all I would reccomend you try and make it next year. Oh a very interesting car was shown the new Telsa all electric sportscar. The woman that owned the car was very informative regarding the overall performance of her new toy. She had the 1st one in the state no matter what the writer in the Tmes said on Saturday. This woman was an early investor in Telsa and in fact prepaid $100.000.00, yes 100 grand, several years ago just to help finance the new company. She had driven it just 500 miles and one day had taken a 100 mile round trip with out recharge. She also said it was incredibly fast on accel and nearly noiseless. Based on Lotus and the electrics added in California.

    Hi Vic,
I did not make it out to this event on Sunday, but I was at the ERTC event Saturday morning. I was the guy in the red M3 who showed up sort of early :) Thanks again for putting that on, had a great time.
