Seems like when I go to a different sub forum on FC, I always get the login screen again. What's with the dropped cookies? Is it because I use opera, or another reason why this keeps happening. Frustrating to have to login again and then taken back to the index page from wherever I was.
OK, back to your regularly scheduled program....

I use several pc's with various browsers and OS's and havent seen this problem, do occasionaly get it when I follow links on the site, but only when the link is to a variation of the Fchat site (eg. bestemployee.com or the Ip address of Fchat)

I've had this say this before, where you login at the top right just click stay always logged in or whatever that check box says. Then when your done logout from clicking on the bottom right of the whole page.

    Hmm,

Must be opera as this continually happens on this site, although cookies from other forums I visit seem to not have problems. I'll load up firefox tomorrow to see if I can pin it down to the browser.. The cookies should stay whether the stay always logged in is checked or not, but for now that's a simple solution for me, thanks.

Ack.... I have had that problem a few times, usually other forums are fine but for whatever reason FChat seems to have problems with it. Netscape has been the worst, something gets screwed up with the coookies and even if you clear them and start over it never works right again. I'm using Firefox for all my FChat stuff now and it seems to work pretty well.

It's something other than that..... Up until the most recent version of Firefox it would crash half the time when doing an IP search so I had been using Netscape as my primary browser. There were certain links that would open up with Netscape and I would be logged off. I stay logged onto all the FC/TBE/.... variants so that wasn't the problem either. It was more like some kind of cookie corruption problem except it kept reoccuring. The latest Firefox seems to handle the mod functions OK so I have switched and haven't had in log in problems with FChat since. I still have problems on Aviatorchat with both FF and netscape, some links (including clicking on the top banner) take me to the board logged off about half the time. If I click on my bookmark it brings me back as logged in so I dunno what the problem might be.

    I use Opera.

Although I used MSExp just a few moments ago only because I check it every 3 months - just because it's there, haunting and taunting.

    "Remember Me" works.

If Cookies have been cleared, then I log back on - I may experience the log-in page a couple of times, primarily if I left-click on a link to another thread. After that, it clears it's nostrils, even flares them a little as I F-Chat happily ever after.
