The car I drove isn't one I think I would buy anyway - I do want a later one for the reasons mentioned above and the one I drove had about 50k miles on it. Although I was actually surprised at how tight it was despite the miles.

Definitely the GTS. You get the best of both worlds IMHO. There’s nothing like hearing that engine scream in all its glory with the top down, and you can still get the feel and look of a GTB with the top up.

I concur with Robb, my clutch feels like a Honda Civic. Super light especially compared to my Corvette or Camaro

I have never driven a 348 either, but they have quite a bit less power, and considering a 355 has about the same hp as a new Kia singer, I wouldn't want to go any less

Well If I was buying a normal car then yes I would be concerned about power since everyone measures 1/4 wee wee times.
Remember, These are sports car not a drag cars. Its also a Ferrari, it has nothing to prove. When a new R8 pulls next to me take a guess whos more envious. A Ferrari is a Ferrari. The rules are different.

???? If you're looking for vehicles with <50k miles, you'll have a whole different set of issues to contend with. I'd put some black tape over the odometer before a test drive and just see how the car feels, what the service records show, and what a PPI reveals.

Oh I agree with you generally - but for 65k, there are better cars out there.

Tru, no one should be comparing these to a modern exotic, however, i still want to be faster than a nissian maxima or minivan etc.. it is a sports car for Pete's sake

Those comparisons are like punching someone's grandfather in the face.

...and in which would you rather be seen at the icecream boutique? No one cares about lap times of a 30 year old car. It's all about how good you look. (see also: Goodwood)

They actually used the adjective "cool" and and applied it to the noun "minivan".

    It's a crazy world. :D

Grassroots Motorsports did some comparison like this in 2003 with a honda odyssey, a porsche 356, and a jag xke. guess who won. the young guy.

We also live in a world where Camrys have 301 hp in top trim.

lol ok, well then, let's all go buy new Vettes, no... hellcats, Merica F**K ya! What are you going to do when Camrys finally have 400 bhp? BTW sports car are about lap times, ever seen flying miata's on the track, its not about hp, its a sports car as you say. But I hear what your saying, I think your using an incorrect measure but it is is very commonly done. I'd own a v6 Dino without blinking an eye even is a Minivan is faster.

So no one should be comparing those cars as you say, but you still do. :)
Its America after all, land of Hemi's and 1/4 times. Its what most people know. We can't help ourselves. It's all good!

I agree, at this point no one should be buying an older Ferrari because it's a fast choice. You buy it because it's fun and interesting and the way it makes you feel. My former Alfas were incredibly slow by modern standards but were so much fun to rip around in.
