    I made the mistake of taking my friend's 550 for the next few days. I know he did that to me since he wants me to buy it. The problem is it worked. Now I want it. Not as fast as the GT2 but SMOOTH like a carpet ride. Torque does count. Nice machine! Now I see what a V12 is all about.

    I sure hope you're starting out with a good driving record. It isn't going to get any better in one of those.

    Just drive down to DMV and give it to them, If you are like me it will save you the cost of a 550.

    I'm sold no ifs, ands, or buts. Why does this always have to happen to me? I'm trying to remember the exact point at which I became a super car junkie but its all a blur. The 550 is mezmerising!

    I'm with ya. I've had 2 550's and currently drive a gt-2. I miss the lux interior (the Porsche is pathetic in that regard) and the positive snick of the gated shifter. But, the power steering is a little too detached feeling, compared to the GT-2 and it just ain't in the same league for speed. The other thing that i found is that you can't put all the power down in a 550, at least on street tires (and i used virtually every tire available between the two i had). But, then again, if that were the only test, we'd be buying Z06's and saving plenty.

    My understanding (currently) is that if you upgrade to the 575 modular wheels then you can put on the Corsas, but if you stay with the 18's you only have the Perrili yellow/red or the the PS2's to choose from, which is completely contrary to the P- car where you get more choices if you stay with 18's vs. 19's, then you can only get Conti (crappy) tires. Exactly the opposite scenerio. Confusing to say the least.
