I had posted this in a California thread, but thought I would throw it up here too. I went by just to see the California today, as I missed the party in it's honor last week in Dallas. Ended up being prodded to take a test drive, even though I am not an immediate prospective customer. After driving it, I am overwhelmed, and I think they will sell as many as they can crank out the line. As stated, it looks a great deal better in person, and the back end doesn't seem as big as a lot of the low angle photos have shown it to be. It drove better than any new generation Ferrari I have driven, including the 430. Flame on, but that's my impression. Feels small and light, and gobs of power. The things I liked best about my 15 minutes of driving were: Great hi-tech dash, and very easy to read quickly. Supportive seats, but not too tight for my wide ass. New steering wheel has great thumb-spots, and the shift lights built in the top of the wheel are a huge plus. The top was down, and the car has very little wind buffeting in the cab. Great exhaust sound, and not as blatty as the 430 to me. And the best thing about the California was the transmission. It corrects all the ills of past F-1's I have driven, and is lightning quick while still being smooth. None of the annoying back and forth head motion I experienced in past models. Thumbs up for Boardwalk Ferrari and Enver for encouraging me to take a spin in this great car ! I will spread the word.
Man, I would LOVE one of those cars! They even have enough room for my wheelchair in back! Sounds like a 430 plus some other good stuff thrown in for good measure! Here is hoping their prices will fall off a cliff sooner rather than later so I will one day soon be able to afford one!
Way to go,Man. I need to go by and at least see it in person, even though I've even sort of liked it in the pictures and the Fifth Gear video I've seen of it.
