Thought I'd change the pace a bit as an F430 owner posting in the Lambo section, we seem to have a bit of cross posting lately. Drove the G spyder this afternoon for the first time - good grief, what a car, one of the most enjoyable test drives I've had. Putting aside all the styling discussions, I don't know how anyone could fault the car's performance. I might prefer the six speed to the e-gear (the e-gear in the car I drove seemed a little rough), but the acceleration is exactly what you'd want from an exotic (dramatic), the thing doesn't seem to flex at all, grip is first rate. I suppose you feel the AWD a little in the steering - and I obviously wasn't going anywhere near track speeds so I can't speak to handling near the limit. But - how can a car guy not love this car's pace? Don't know whether I'll order one, but if you've got one coming I think you're going to be very, very happy boy.
Not ever driven a 430, yet owning a Gallardo SE, I'm surprised to hear that you were impressed with the power as if there is a noticeable difference compared to the 430.
"I'm surprised to hear that you were impressed with the power as if there is a noticeable difference compared to the 430." Good point, I didn't drive the cars back to back, unfortunately - my 430's been at the car show here in DC for a week so I haven't been in it for a while. Not a very scientific review, I know, but - perhaps due to the larger displacement, the open top & associated sounds, I don't know - the G seemed more like a hot rod, more drama in the launch and climb to speed than I get from the 430. It may be feel rather than actual performance; it may be actual performance. Very subjective, I know. Edit - I can't imagine what Wayne's turbo G feels like.

The pic you posted shows a alcantera steering wheel, means that this car is equiped with the "SPORT PACKAGE" option, a little tighter suspension, a little more bouncy....but I love it on my 06 SE.....
What's up with your turbo? Is it up and running? Best[/QUOTE] another guy and I picked it up a couple of weeks ago. Left florida sunday morning arrived La Jolla tuesday morning. On arriving car ran hot. Water in 7&8 cyls. Pulled motor shipped it back to tuner, he opened it up couple of days ago no blown head gasket like we thought....rather steel sleeves settled down about the thickness of piece of paper..just enough to allow water through. Anyhow it went to machine shop they are going to do the heat/freeze routine to lock the sleeves in for good. Heffners is paying ALL costs involved including Lamborghini Orange county R & R the engine, He warrants his work for 1 year.
