Would a knowledgable ferrarista (preferrably a mechanic) please explain (in laymen's terms preferrably) what a dry sump oil circuit system is versus a conventional engine oil circuit. I will be a new ferrari owner very soon and I've heard this term a lot in regards to the engine of the car I am purchasing. What are the advantages and disadvantages of such systems, and what extra care things do I need to take in mind when caring for a ferrari with dry sump?

Copying and pasting "what a dry sump oil circuit system is" from your post into google yields several good explanations.
Take a look and then come back with any Ferrari specific bits you don't follow.
