it is in the ferrariads already, but thought it fits in the other Italian also. 97 916 lots of carbon fiber, magnesium, and polished aluminum. bike is not a garage queen. make offer. I have other pictures on request, will consider bike + $ for a ferrari.

How many miles? Is it on a salvage title? Ever been droped? I am assuming so because you say it is not a gerage queen.
What is the bike worth to you.

thanks for your questions, I tried to reply earlier, but the site was not responding. It is NOT A SALVAGE TITLE, it has not ever been layed down, it has been tipped over once. I have had it at the crystal cove once, so vroom may have seen it. it was the first time that the cizeta was there. anyway. i have put 10k miles on the bike in two years. the bike has ~27,000 miles on it. The transmission was locked in first and I could not figure why, so I bought a bottom end that had ~12,000 miles on it. the bike runs good recent dyno since the motor was replaced 101hp/62 ft.lbs. torque. I said that it is not a garage queen because the carbonfiber is old, and shows wear. I am selling the bike to save up for a ferrari. the bike is FOR SALE FOR $6000 or $7000. depending on whether you want the magnesium wheels or the aluminum brembo ones. I have a friend who wants the dymags and will give me 1k for them,so that is the reason for the price diference. THE BIKE HAS/COMES WITH: Carbon fiber nose, tank, tail, airtubes, air box, airfilter, uppers. also carbon fiber vance and hines ss2 exhaust. the bike also has fast by ferracci: stearing damper and polished aluminum triple clamps, and ecu/chip. the bike has a polished aluminum swing arm. I have a spare tank that I bought from european cycle, the bike will include the original motor that is taken apart with all of the internals. if you would like to see/hear the bike just let me know. I have other photos on request.

thank you for your comment vroom

Meh, IMO Italy is good for making cars if you want a great motocycle get something from a little farther east. Not saying Ducatis arn't nice just saying that whether your looking for sheer performance or a slightly more luxerious bike the Japanese can't be beat.

Dmeyer, this is a 1997 ducati 916 same technology as the 94/95 916. which is a pure bred race bike from the get go. the bike weighs ~390lbs. A. way ahead of the japanese bikes at that time. B. it is italian and they are not a dime a dozen. C. performance: in the mountains/canyons,if you know how to ride, you either like a Vtwin or you don't. rc51's are nice also but are new comparatively. if you want a fast drag bike, get a hyabusa, if you want a very good handling bike that is italian, sexy and the sound gives you goosebumps, get this bike. worthy of note, I can keep up with or ahead of zx10's and gsxr 1000's in the mountains but they have me when the road gets straight. like a ferrari and a vett. who gets the looks.

Thats fair, not trying to nock your bike, its a beautiful machine, i was just stating my personal preference, as I'm sure you know riding for speed on a bike, in the "twisties" is probably 90% rider skill. I also understand your point about Ducatis not being a dime a dozen, however that being said, I personally don't see very many top of the line Jap bikes either. A good rider can be riding almost anything and ride faster than a new rider on any bike, so as you said, it depends on what type of performance your looking for and your personal opinions.

no hard feelings. looks even better in person. if/when you get the chance to ride a ducati superbike, you will know the difference. Bike is still for sale though.

amen pete, I have a witness. I previously stated that if you want a drag bike get a hyabusa, scratch that, and insert pete's 360 lb 140hp 888. I bet it's pretty quick. that is proof that your wallet is the limit. I think that my bike would make a good entry bike into the ducati world, but could be modified to go faster fairly easily if that is your thing. i'm not bad in the canyons, but 140 hp is a whole lot of bike.

Ducatis are Ferraris on two wheels, sometimes they might not be the fastest thing on the block but hek, there so sexy and sound great, racing pedigree, rare and expensive enough to make the R1 driver envious

cool things like spaghetti exhaust, carbon fiber rear sets, marchesini wheels...
888's are still imposing today as they were in the 90's...kinda the modern day 750 ss as far as the quintessential duc goes!
