Looked through a few pages of posts, and didn't see my dumb question. Apologizing in advance...........

I've owned a few cars in my time, two favorites being a 67 Jaguar E-Type OTS (still have) and a W12 Phaeton (long gone). Many other Hondas, Toyotas, etc.

I fell in love with the FF when it was introduced and have lusted after one ever since. Now, after some successful asset dispositions, I'll be in a position to seriously consider one. Here's my dumb question. Every FF I look at has had four to six owners (at least). In my previous used car exploits, I would never consider a three owner car, and tried to avoid two-owner cars. Why does every FF have so many owners? Especially since it seems a pretty good subset of owners love them? Do the maintenance costs just destroy them? Do they tire of them quickly? Or, are all Ferraris like this? Thanks for your insight.

Ferraris like many high-end cars are not the only occasional vehicle that people own. The typical owner has other cars available to drive, but more than likely it is 10+ cars. Some just have to make room.
It’s really difficult to answer your question without sounding as if all Ferrari drivers are rich pricks. The vast majority resemble the first and not the second

Without researching it myself, it seems rather excessive that every FF for sale "has had four to six owners (at least)." However, if that is true and it bothers you, then buy one with only one or two previous owners.

I bought my 2015 in 2019 and became the second owner. So when, or if, I sell it that person will only be the third owner.

I wouldn’t think 2 seconds about a Ferrari that has many owners. It’s quite common. As a recovering ADD car addict owning a car for a year or two and selling it is “normal”…..

I would think at least 3 owners is normal. Especially for 2012 high spec cars those are likely for LaF allocations so owners probably didn’t event want an FF. Second owner picks up the car and owns it until warranty/maintenance runs out. 3rd owner gets the car fully depreciated. In my case I’m the 3rd and 5th owner of my car.

Always thought number of owners is such a bizarre metric for judging a car.

This isn't a dumb question at all.
I'm on my 2nd Ferrari after selling 1999 456MGT 6 in 2017 I picked up a 2012 FF in Dec2020 after learning it was twice held thru Ferrari of New England.
One Dealer. Two owners. At 21k miles. All I cared about was color, mileage, and if it was well kept.
So when it came on the market, I jumped then and there to be owner #3.
To me, it was 99% about the color after having sold the 456M I wanted to revisit the past.
And so I jumped in and have had ZERO issues since.

What year model? Mine is also over $400K sticker with the pano roof and Rosso Maranello being a large chunk of the option costs. Let’s see some pics!

Interesting, so what's driving the high MSRP? Most FF are in the $350K range even with triple layer paints.

if i had to guess because my other options is $64,865 so i can't be sure

obviously the triple layer paint it has to be the semi aniline leather headliner, semi aniline leather upper zone, colored safety belts, colored stitching sport exhaust maybe?

I'd assume most people have the dual suspension lift and diamond wheels and parking cameras front and rear etc

I'll put it the way the person I bought my 360 from, "we are just curators until the next persons time to enjoy the car."

Rubbish.... I'm never getting rid of mine!

Maintaining a Ferrari can get a bit pricey, but that's not the only thing to consider. Some folks might dig the whole Ferrari vibe but realize that the FF isn't as practical as they thought in the long run. And, yeah, some are trying to dodge those maintenance bills. When you're eyeing a Ferrari, it's crucial to really go through the maintenance records with a fine-tooth comb. That way, you won't end up with any surprise issues on your hands.
