    I'm filling out my on line entry for the Concorso Italiano and it ask for my "Chassis Number", is this the VIN#? Thanks.....Charlie

    No, but it is part of the VIN. The 12th -17th digits of the VIN are the chassis number.

    In his case that's correct ('91 TR) but on older cars the chasis number is the VIN number. Kind of screws things up with the DMV in some places!!

    thats the chasis number of my 1991 Testarossa:
    ZFFAA17B000091239
    and thats the VIN number:
    91239

    ....just the last 5 digits they are asking for in your entry form.

    Yes your VIN by MVA standards should be 17 characters---but for FCA asking for the chassis # it is the last set of Numbers only--basically that is the build order for your car..Newer cars are 6 numbers, older ones are 5--my car would be 81967
