OK, here is my entry into the stupidest question ever contest, but I am honeslty stumped by this one: How the by-damn-hell do you remove the little Ferrari-horse valve stem caps without the little tool they come with? My car cam with the caps, but no tool to get them off. If you turn them by hand they just spin like a child proof medicine bottle. Obviously they work well enough to fool not only small children, but full grown men with IQ's supposedly beyond the double digits. So go ahead, laugh, make fun, do what you wish, but please tell me how to get these stupid things off (or at least where I can buy the little tool)!
What little tool? (Don't go there.... ) On a more serious note, these sound aftermarket, so a picture of the caps may help.....
There are different syles. Check for a very small allen head set screw in them. It may be loose enough to spin but caught on the threads
Look at the bottom of the cap....on the ones I have seen, the "tool" catches at the base of the cap, there is a hexagonal black plastic piece it grabs. You might be able to get a small adjustable wrench on it...or use a small needle nose pliers.
Wow, this is a real puzzler, someone please tell me where the valve stem caps are - and don't be mean just cuz i park the enzo in the blue places. morally, fisicalle and mentalle challenged, chris, (i think)??? or maybe not???
Just a guess, but did you try pushing on the cap as you turn it? Maybe they are like a medicine bottle. BT
OK guys, it appears we still haven't - Poor guy's already taking it on the chin [and rightly so!] *except* nobodys answered...... I have no idea about the things, and know someone asked for pix, but surely someone knows what he's on about? Cheers, Ian
-think: between an Oil Filter and a medicine bottle top..... they both spin, but one has grip........ special tools can be found at Ricambi....plier, and pin... [ BTW NOT! ] where's FBB and his thead of pics
Some are two pc, the bottom and the top are connected but the top spins freely, they come with a tool thaty looks like a small threaded bolt, there is a hole in the top and a hole in the botom, you have to line those up, screw in the tool and then remove top and bottom as one. You could probably line up the holes and use something else to get a grip and get them to come off. It appears that it may have just one hole, and it just grips the other bottom pc. Actually the second piece in the picture is merely a trim piece. The little tool threads in the outer section of the cap and tightens against the part of the cap that's threaded on the valve stem. Then you spin the whole thing off. I think there is another design out there as well but I'm not sure how they work.
