I also posted over in the technical Q&A, but seems I had better luck on this forum.

    Hello there

I am trying to access my fuse box to see if the wipers (and gas cover) fuse has blown. I looked over the board for previous posts, and did try to access as I thought I should - passenger footwell. I have attached/included some pics.

What am I missing? I pull the top mat back, and the carpet underneath is clearly glued to the "firewall" (I know it's not the firewall, but what would you call this anyway??). I tried various twists of the fastener, but nothing worked. There are these two screws though.

    Ideas/advice would be most welcome!

    Thanks in advance, John

John- From the parts catalog, it looks like there is a hinge at the bottom. Undo the top two screws and fold the footrest and carpet down. Image is from Ricambi's online parts catalog.

OEM should open with turning the two pins about 90 degrees. It hinges at the bottom like Taz said. Looks like someone put in more screws for some reason

    Greetings John
In the 575, under the carpet you are holding, is a piece of velcro. I would suspect the same in a 456. On the fold down panel in the 575 where you have two Phillips head I have two (what appears to be) half turn dzus fasteners.

I suspect access has happened in the past and the velcro may have pulled off and that you may well have glue holding the carpet on. The dzus fasteners may have been replaced by phillips heads.

Note, my car is a RHD 575, and the left cheek panel has been removed whilst the panel is shown in the up and down position.

That is exactly how it is done.

Incidentally, if it transpires that it is the wiper ecu at fault (#40 on the diagram Terry posted), it will have a Bosch number on it that you can quote to a Bosch autoparts stockist and expect to pay about £50 against about 4 x's that (I seem to remember) from Ferrari.
