    Just bought a DVD burner for the computer. Is 16x as fast as you can get right now. I compiled a bunch of Ferrari clips to burn to a DVD ---13 hrs it is going to take to burn them. Man I can burn a music CD in less than a minute.
    I guess the technology isn't there yet for the DVD burners to be faster than 16x???

    Burn time isn't the issue.

    The issue is the time that it takes to encode the video into mpeg 2 format.

    Pretty much.
    The big issue you'll have is the media.

    I have a 52x CD-RW but most of my media is 32x rated.
    I also have a 16x DVD-RW but most of my media is rated at 4x.

    Burning videos I have taken of the kids, so I can watch them on TV--not the computer---dont download music--thats why I have 800+ cds............

    Yes it is pretty quick--3gig-- tons of RAM , etc.
