Is there any type of software that will allow an individual to transfer soundtracks from DVDs onto CDs? Have some concert DVDs in which I would love to transfer the music onto CDs....

    Thanks!

Are not most soundtracks in the movie just parts of songs? I doubt you will get the whole cd soundtrack.

I don't know if the audio is on a different track for music and voice. Prob. not.....

the way i see this is that you want to extract the music from the dvd, and then burn that extracted music to a cd?
If so, do you have a PC or Mac?

I don't know the limitations of the free version but this seems to fit what you're looking for.

Concert DVDs-example Led Zeppelin's DVD-have some great songs on them that I want to burn onto a CD with and listen to them while I'm driving around.

    Thanks!

    I assume you have windows.
windows comes with movie maker. it is found in the program files folder. first make sure you upload the dvd onto your computer. then open movie maker, go up to file and go to import. then import that movie. after that, you want to drag the movie down onto the audio field not the video field (the field is the place at the bottom where you can go and edit stuff). This turns the movie into audio. then you just have to save it. then go about burning the cd as normal.

no prob but i messed up and did not want to go back because you might miss it. When you save, go into file and go to save movie file, not the save project. And save it as a recordable cd

oh yeah, buy CD-RWs just in case you mess up.

for saving it? or burning it?

for both, it sometimes can mess with the quality. I usually burn at 4x
