Birdman, Yes, a great time and VERY loud day indeed It is GREAT that your lovely car is coming along nicely. Just saw your post on the license plate wire... no fun i, too, wondered how the #%<k they ran that wire in there when replacing the old for new OEM lights. MAYBE some type of very thin "snake" (smaller diameter than what is used for snaking out clogs from a drain). When you say it is "finished" inside, do you mean it is totally closed off??
Cool. Did you notice how much flatter the 550 torque curve is than the lambo...nice. I've got an appointment for a few hours of dyno time for my baby on Saturday to finish up the tuning and then get some numbers...I know, I know it's long over due....
Isn't that power number WAY low for that Diablo? The thing is rated at 530hp but only 358 makes it to the wheels? That's more then 33% driveline loss! I know it's AWD, but still - that's a lot. My Viper GTS that was virtually bone stock put down 418RWHP, and it was rated at 450. That 550 Maranello looks low too - 366hp to the wheels from a rated 485. That is a 25% driveline loss. "Accepted" figures are 15% for a standard transmission, and 20% for an automatic. In practive, I've found more like 12% for a manual and 18% for an auto. I'd be willing to bet if you pulled the motor out of that Maranello and tested it on an engine dyno, it's a good 50hp shy of it's rated power. Any other tests on 550's with dyno results?
