My race motor will be back from the builder in 6 weeks. Can your friend tune corvette ecus? Does he have HP tuners for example? I need a tune before the car gets transport to Mid-O raceway. Text or PM me his contact info.

Church is impossible to deal with now. About a month ago I left 3 phone messages, could never get anyone to answer the phone, and Shaun did not return my email. So I gave up on him.

The new Torrance guys have an inground dyno as pictured that all the big shops use. This way we can compare at the wheels horsepower with everyone else in the world.

They recently added the dyno within a year. I know he started making Mercedes Hot Rod stuff before that Toyota Scion Racing. Not sure about Audi but why not LOL

They had no ink in the printer last time I was there. 3 times there never seen Shaun.

I have no major baselines I can't cross over. I do a good part of my tuning with Wideband AFR's and knock sensors for the timing.

Love to see what your smallblock does.

    very nice setup.

the Mustang is the heart break dyno. known to post the lowest numbers compared to most others.

Yeah...Church's dynopak hub dynos are ego strokers. My stock advertised 405hp Z06 at the crank does 414hp at the hubs on Church's dyno. We all know that isn't remotely true.

That is unfortunate about church's ..... I do agree the 'hub dynopak' does give 'fluffy' numbers ..... that said, as long as one uses the same 'measuring stick' ... one can get a general idea of gains with component changes.

And if church's is 'hit and mostly miss' these days ...... I may have to redo my baselines at one of these 'new' places ......

Those are usually around 355rwhp on our dynojet.

You SoCal guys should all chip in and buy your own community dyno :)

Give him a call but if you get no reply don't waste more time. I'm in the same boat. I was trying to see how much power fell off from my baseline before an engine rebuild. Ultimately, while my motor is fine for the street it fails to stand up to others on the racetrack anymore...so it is getting refreshed.

Right and about 385rwhp with longtube headers and a tune. Those numbers are reproducible all accross the country.

Great. Now I feel like I am starting over with the dyno. Nothing to compare it with. No clue as to how much improvements have been made. Everything I have run before is now lining the litter box. Total BS. Not happy. :(

This guy is going to tell me the car makes nothing in wheel HP. I will try it once, but if I get depressed, I'm out. I think the last Dynajet I ran gave me like 255 with most of my mods. The real negative is that you bring in another variable, the tires - like how grippy they are, how old, etc. Not to mention how slippery the rollers are. This has nothing to do with the power output of the engine, but only shows you how much of the engine's power is getting to the metal rollers - not even to the street.

Again, if you start here, then gains can be reviewed by subsequent runs. But for me, all I'm going to get is a new set of possibly depressing numbers. Then as I tune, I hopefully get some better depressing numbers.

Of course, all this is moot because I feel we are pretty much tapped out on the 348 engine without a new ECU and more air.

    My F355 made 308 rwhp on a Mustang. A '95 F355 made 304 and an '05 360 put down 316. Just a rough gauge for you guys.

All three cars were run back to back so the calibration and weather conditions were consistent.

Remember, even if the graph says it makes 100 rwhp it won't drive any differently than the day before.

don't getbummed vince. What I posted was just my experience with church recently. If you stick with him your numbers before and after will still make sense. Most dyno people do at the crank like when rebuilding motors to make sure of a number of things before they go back in the car. Other dyno people say it is at the wheels that counts because that is where the rubber meets the road. A hub reading is a less popular halfway in between method that is just fine just less popular. So being less popular it is harder to compare. That is part of the reason you still see 0-60 and qtr mile times still posted by the magazines. All data needs to be taken in context.
