    Hey All -

Been tasked for some preliminary work to record cars for an upcoming Need For Speed game - this time I'm looking for a shop in San Diego or Orange County that would be willing to rent time on their dyno, either on a daily or hourly basis. We're looking for somewhere in a quiet locale, with perhaps their dyno separate from the shop area (to keep down on noise). Looks like 3 days worth of recording work needed for this particular project.

Any leads will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Aaron, you may want to contact JBA in San diego. They are right off the 52 and Convoy. Close to home.

Thanks, lmk - I'm basically looking for prices to rent a dyno for about 3 days - but it may depend on when I can actually schedule the cars for recording. We will be obtaining use of some exotics and hot rods so will need a dyno which can handle some horsepower at high rpms. I'm also looking for a shop which is not on a main street to cut down on street noise and one where the actual shop won't be too noisy as well. Any help you have is appreciated!

As for my car, it may have been lowered - I'm finding out all sorts of things that have been done to it by the previous owner - theiler mods, electronic fuel system, upgraded suspension.... being lower than stock may explain why I keep scraping the front spoiler! :)

both dpr and dynoshop would be good locations, both can handle a lot of power and dynoshop is off any main streets and dprs dyno is around back so its away from the street all together, in an industrial type of complex, no worries about ground clearance either, dynoshop has several different dynos as well for different car setups.

Thanks, Tim! A lot depends on where the cars are - I might have to make use of something north and Costa Mesa is fairly central - this would be a good location. I have my car serviced there so am used to making the trek.

    'preciate it!

There are some guys that do Audi/Porsche tuning with their own Dyno off Reynolds, near Redhill and Macarthur, but DIRECTLY under the approach path to John Wayne, but let me tell you, when the planes are not over head, it is dead quiet there.

I worked at Stillen from 97-98, shared an office with Bill "I'll shred anything" Claytor aka the Iceman, because we shared an office and it was always like -20 in there. I put Carrol Shelby's Durango on the rack there once and even ran my p1800 for a few hot tests when I was tuning it.

I think in the first NFS they used my friend Craig's bad a55 stang for sound bytes too :)
