Dyno Results from switching to Capristo from Tubi

Both are dynojets, however the dynos are about a year apart.

I was pretty amazed at the differences, I figured 5-6hp at the most, but apparently not. 19whp difference.

Well the first one is SAE, the second one standard....can't compare the two at all.

SAE will be more accurate, and usually lower....standard is a raw number.

Ask the tuner for a SAE number....probably will be much closer to the top number.

Still, even corrected, the bottom one will still have a few more ponies....I'd say about 5ish.

Unless runs are back to back on the same day (for best analysis) and using the same correction factor they can't be compared accurately...

Capristo is higher pitched, Tubi has a lower pitch to it. Personal preference is Capristo.

 

As a rule, standard reading is always higher than the SAE reading.
The dyno shop should give you the readings from both pulls either in SAE or Standard.
Also you need to take into consideration the correction factor on both pulls.
Correction factor will vary by the conditions “outside temp, humidity and so on”

FWIW, my 360 dyno'd on a Dyno Pack, on a cool morning at 343.7 rwhp. The car was stock except for the Tubi.

 

Agreed...There are so many variables that are being ignored. Air temperature and humidity play a pretty big role in the engine's performance. Not to mention the engine's change in performance over the past 5 year. Now granted, the motor isn't going to gain power over time, but if these two exhausts were compared back to back, there might be a greater difference in bhp. Regardless, it's certainly fair to say the Capristo exhaust is putting out more power.

 

The correction factor for smoothing is the same, but the humidity difference between the two is HUGE.... as mentioned... u can't compare these accurately.
