There's a GT4 up on eBay, item 230036013390. Says it is located in chula vista, CA. I asked the seller some questions. After a few days this was his response:

Last time I checked the ac worked fine. No electrical issues that I'm aware of. The dings look like small dime size and are touched up. No
time to show it, just want it sold.

Has all the making of a scam, not wanting to show the car and a seller with zero feedback. So just in case this is a legit sale (which I really doubt), does anyone know this car or this seller? Oh, I just noticed no VIN listed. Oh yeah, this looks legit!

Car's bid is at $17K, 75K miles. Doesn't appear to be a scam. However, I still would go see the car, email him and see if you can drop by to see the car at a "neutral" site if he's concerned about security.

This car has been up on Ebay 3 times this year.

The seller made all kinds of wild claims about the car that were all untrue. Don't know if it is the same seller as before, sorry.
I'd approach this one very carefully.

That same car was on e-bay about 6 months ago. The seller had only 60% positive feedback at the time, he must have gotten a new ID. At the time he was willing to show the car, but he wouldn't allow people to test drive it.
The car looks decent, but something is definitively fishy with that guy.

Seller does have a new ID and I also emailed him with no response as yet, which has alerted my Scamadar 3000. The other thing I noticed was that the pictures are not very clear and mostly shaded. This also doesn't give one comfort.

Anyone getting a response should please post here.

Hey, it's in my backyard. I can't ignore it! LOL. Call it casual interest. Not serious due to flakiness. :)

This idiot barely uses 5 lines to sell a potential good car, either it is not his, or he is just plain dumb. My 4 year old could write a better ad than his.

The car doesn't *look* -- THAT -- bad... But pics can be deceiving! Definitely worth a look, Brian.

Well, I thought so too, and I have tomorrow off so I could make a run down and see it, but he says he's just selling it, not showing it. Would I buy a 31 year old Fcar without even seeing it? From a seller with no feedback? Who has had the car on eBay before with questionable results? Not just no way, but no f-ing way! I wrote back that at first I thought he was an idot for not wanting to show the car, but the bidding is up to $17+k, so apparently it is not him that is crazy! Bt neither am I!

Very good point. I suspect that shill bidding happens on 99% (literally) of all "no reserve" auctions on Ebay.

"I just want to sell it, not show it" ...Hmmm, let me think of a scenario when a Seller would want to do that...

    Ooh, wait, I know!!!

When u don't have anything to really sell?

    My emails:

ME: I would like to come and look at the car. I am in LA area. Can u provide the chassis number please? Lastly, it does not look like there is a smog pump on the car - was it removed and do u have it?
    Vince

SELLER: No, I don't have the time, I just want to get rid of it. It's not stolen and I don't know where to find that number. It has a smog kit in a separate box I will send with car.

This guy should be reported to eBay's fraud dept if any of you suspect that he's a scammer or ficticious seller. Changing ID's 5 times, being evasive with his answers, and not allowing the car to be seen or inspected prior to purchase are huge red flags.

I offered him $23K cash but told him I would need the car picked up by my carrier no later than Saturday and the driver would have the cash in hand.

The flake did not reply at all, I think we all know why.
