Hey guys, this is probably a stupid question but here goes.

I had to replace the trunk struts on the car and found that there was only one E Clip holding one of them in on one side.

I suspect whoever replaced them last time lost the clips and wound up in the same situation I'm in... not being able to find any that fit.

It's a 6mm e clip should be easy, but it's very thin compared to any of the clips I have (have two sets with 6mm stainless and steel). All of the clips I have a just too thick to go into the little groove.

Anyone know a source that has these things?

Superformance has them - I used them last year to replace my struts.

Search for part 11087876 on this page :
    https://www.superformance.co.uk/308/fittings.html

Shipping such low cost parts from the UK is a bit strange and expensive, so maybe there are other things you need from them?

Metric E Clips are readily available, big box stores, hardware stores, Amz, Eby, etc.

Yeah I have two boxes of them. The correct size is 6mm but the problem is both boxes I have of 6mm are too thick to go into the strut

I have bought clips at Home Depot.

The clips are redundant. The pins will not come out with no clip. It is under constant pressure and there is no force present to overcome it. Many cars have driven around for years with no clips and I have never seen one come out.

I am not really advocating leaving them off. But just saying parts will not fall off cars in their absence.
