I’m genuinely grateful that you’ve watched those DDE videos so I don’t have to. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
That DDE guy is a fool and puts ants on me. His schtick to the viewing public gives all us normal Ferrari owners a bad name.
Any updates on this situation? I miss having quality reading material when I am hiding in the bathroom at work. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I might try to make a drinking game out of it. Every time you get annoyed you take a shot. I would like a memorial statue of me placed along the straight at Road America in rememberence of my martyrdom. Sent from my toilet using FerrariChat.com mobile app
If I played that game every time this car crossed my screen... https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/58488cab-28a0-4078-a0d4-c89cf4892eb0/
Agree--the DDE videos are disgusting along with the participants. The public gets the wrong idea about Ferrari ownership and owners.
That's why I can't stand 99% of car youtubers. I can appreciate some of the actual informative videos showing how to do certain procedures, but some are just dead wrong or ridiculously simplified...or they use chopsticks to find TDC on a motor.
I think its important to remember that DDE aren't trying to appeal to actual owners of exotic cars, rather its people who aspire to owning such cars. That's what I tell myself anyway.
Then I would say the aspirants who follow DDE neither appreciate nor deserve the history and quality of the lineage.
I’m told these are fresh out of the oven, just like mom used to make. In hindsight, I should have asked EAG for an extra gated plate as a cool paper weight when I had my nine-nine converted. Image Unavailable, Please Login
DDE is owned by two guys named Damon and Dave, with Damon as the majority owner. Neither of them knows very much about automotive design or history. They fixate on body color and "liveries," wheels, and loud exhaust. Also tire smoke. These guys -- or their audience -- have an insatiable appetite for videos of our beautiful Italian works of art spinning around in circles and destroying expensive rubber. In fairness, they also have a couple dedicated open track cars, that they take to the track a couple times a year. But mostly their automotive interests are about looks, noise, and tire smoke. As you might guess, they have zero respect for their equipment. For example, both Damon and Dave have Ferrari 599s with EAG cable-shift conversions. They have installed auxiliary calipers on the rear brakes, operated by 24" vertical handles between the seats. The purpose is to lock the rears to initiate oversteer, with the throttle taking over to maintain wheelspin while cutting donuts or figure eights. In the past month, Damon has had minor crashes in his 599 twice, once in front, once in the rear, and Dave has broken a half shaft by locking the rear brakes with the auxiliary system while also popping the clutch and applying full throttle. Appearance, noise, and tire smoke. And destruction. That's the formula.
Like a lot of car "youtuber" "influencers" (I hate even typing influencer) they pretty much have to keep upping the shock and entertainment value to keep new people clicking and watching. They were kind of fun to watch at first, years ago. But most of them end up seriously jumping the shark and I'm out. DDE did it years ago.
I would like to see the metadata on this photo. The release of this photo was obviously to give the impression that EAG remains a viable option for your 360 or 430 conversion. To be or not to be, that is the question.
Rods do not work properly, and I will take rubber bands if it means I can row my own. My cables work just fine.
