The low-drag GT is gorgeous. :)

    All the best,

Just a theory, but I think the Eagle E-types will be similar to the specialty shops that enhance Corvettes such as Callaway and Lingenfelter.

The cars will never be "original" again once they are heavily upgraded/modified, but there will always be a following for them with enthusiasts.

For example, a late 1980's Callaway Speedster is still a highly desirable car but sells for a lot less than they did new.

I would love to own an Eagle E-type some day.

Eagle Speedster is gorgeous but $500k is a bit high

For that $ I'd rather an Aventador

There are many E's out there that have been upgraded along the same lines as what Eagle does to an original car, and these mods can be undone, but they make the cars easier to live with, better brakes, better cooling, Getrag transmissions etc. I can't really see what the fuss is all about, but it certainly is clever marketing. Of course they have a mass of experience restoring E's, which is a plus.

Cars like the Speedster are newly built vehicles and not E-Type Jaguars. Very nice, but I'd rather have the real thing, half a million can buy you a lot of very nice original car. The speedster you buy for yourself, and I wouldn't expect to see any decent ROI apart from the joy of driving it.

    Best,

    Jack.

    Instead of calloway or lingenfelter,
    I would have said Ruf
I would say this car now and in the future
Would sell on impulse to the right buyer

Or, buy a great E-Type and put even $50K into it...may not be an Eagle, but I'd bet you'd have something killer, and maybe $150K?

I remind people that I purchased my '66 FHC for $18 or $19K (I can't remember). Put $9K of work into it. It's a driver, many flaws, but from 10 feet it looks amazing. Won a few "best in show" car shows, and I've been offered $50K for the car.

A solid E-Type OTS could be had for $90K.

I have a real problem with this "retro rod" thing. Is it really a better jag or is it just another modern car with a jag body on top?

Every time Chip Foose takes to butchering another 70's car to modernize it, he also destroys some of it.

It's kinda the same with Eagle.

    Agree...

...and the 'low drag coupe' is really awkward looking...
