Ear plugged after swimming

    I noticed my left ear gets blugged ( canal is inflated..) after i swim even with ear-plugs. It is as if the water isnt drained.

    It will usually turn into a Otitis Media. Anyone has any tips on how to avoid that ? I love swimming and it would suck if i had to stop.

    Two solutions:

    1. Wax earplugs you put in before swimming. That way the water never gets in there.
    2. When you're done swimming suirt rubbing alcohol in the ear that gets plugged up, it helps evaporate the water.

    Gotten this condition before. It's really painful.

    1/2 vinegar
    1/2 isopropyl alcohol

    Mix it.

    A few drops in the affected ear.

    That's what I was told years ago...has always worked for me.

    I agree with the above.

    I grew up with ear problems and had more ear infections than you could imagine.

    Had 6 sets of tubes put in and had to wear ear plugs until I was 17 or so. I would definitely see a doctor if this is worrying to you. You could always have a custom set of plugs made. I had several sets, and they work much much better than the wax stuff.
