Anyone have a tach from a dual dist. 308 laying around? I would love to borrow it and send it to Dakota Digital so they can calibrate their signal splitter to it. I purchased one of these http://dakotadigital.com/Detail.cfm/-/Category=01/PartNumber=SGI-8/product.htm to to see if it could help my tach after switching to a single dist. with electronic ignition. When you do the switch, the tach reads double the rpm. One option is to send it to Palo Alto Speedo and they will recalibrate it for @$200. This could be a second and much easier alternative but the tach does not read the split signal. They told me to send them the tach and they will make the splitter work with it. I would prefer to not pull the dash and tach if someone has one laying around. Other people with the same problem will be able to go this route as well. This way, if the car is ever converted back to dual dist, the tach doesn't have to be recalibrated again.

I know this will be of little help but in the Archives of FerrariChat, others had the same issue and they were able to correct it without a recalibration.

I do not remember how they did it. I seem to recall that is was a wiring issue in the engine bay.

I remember those previous posts. Millermon supposedly had a homemade splitter. I did get my hands on an unused one through another f-chatter and it did not work. This Dakota Digital splitter is a simple set-up, but after spending some time on the phone with their tech, they said that the tach must be reading the signal differently. If they get one, they can figure it uot and make it work.
