Hey Carbon, does the Market Letter reflect this??? I noted The Journal of Ferrari History gave us $5K love last issue on the 1977 - 1979 Steel bodies...high number now is $40K with a /\ .... Just wondering...any other Real World Deals out there....anyone? I wish they'd split the CAT vs. NON CAT cars though......not enough detail in that particular area....... Sean F., Dr. Barry, Carreaper.....discuss..
Yep, I'm guessing they are up to about $50K by now. Going up like a rocket!! Wait a minute....I need another one before that happens. BigTex already has 2! Birdman
Hey Bubba! Hi Birdman! Carbon is the one to ask. I hope he sees this thread. As for me, I'm not ready to part with mine yet (so it's worthless, I reckon).......unless whoever owns this wants to trade. If he repaired the rear quarter panel, the deal is off. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed Comp Daytona would be a good even "swap" for yours!... Maybe not..just add on to the garage! No change shown on glass '76 but still golden at $50K..... Plus with the "low miles , 2 owner".....I think you are good...I'm just talkin' not dealin'...LOL! Kind of hoped Carby will chime in, with what he knows.... *Teletype machines clacking and clicking, charts, graphs and diagrams...8" X 10" glossy photographs*
I have seen three glass GTBs on Ebay in the last 6 months. There was a car in Europe with 65k miles that was bid up to $35k and did not meet reserve. There was also a highly modefied California car that was listed a few times and finally sold for over $40k. A low mileage Florida car also sold for more than $40k. It seems any driver glass car should fetch $35k. A glass car like the recent Cavallino Platinum class winner with only 1900 miles on it could possibly bring in even more than $50k. What are your thoughts? Does anyone know of any documented sales and how much the cars sold for?
this is the time of year to move cars. prices and demand always spike in the spring / summer months. i would like another early GTB, preferably a euro spec car. i am currently looking for a euro spec Jalpa, and may get a euro GTB by default later ( way more GTBs around than Jalpas) i may have to wait until winter to buy, as is my custom , when prices and demand is lower. back on topic, i see the car market cooling off as intrest rates rise and all the folks using home equity lines wake up as see the real estate bubble has now burst. $20 -$25k seems good for higher mileage GTS cars, with dry sump glass cars still holding a premium. glass cars, GTBs in particular seem to be desired by wierd guys like me who dont care for the open top and like the fact that glass cars wont rust per se. ( they still have the hidden rust issues in the tubes an suspension points here and there). given the carb cars are needy and you must enjoy the smell . sounds and seasonal tinkering, seems the QV will be the one to take off more in price as the 328 series cars hold and go up in value. seems to me the nose bleed priced cars are not in fact selling, and the few that do are sold to impulse buyers and not "informed" ones. 308GT4s do seem to be actually selling for a bit more than they were last summer. but that is a different thread . just my .02 .... i miss having a carb car. time to sell the 911......................
Ferrari, GTB, 308, glass, Euro, Drysum, Carb ====> get all of these in one car and you have a real collectable piece for keep.
I agree... There are two cars on the FCA classifieds, both with asking prices north of 30k. Add'ly, Cavallino lists their price range with an "up" arrow, indicating rising prices.
That's what I saw.....the "up" indicator. I thought the lime green 'glass 308GTB at Gstaad a few years ago was nice, and had a good history.....unusual color! Thanks ya'll....
My car is black, us spec, 23k mi. The car was $35, and the owner had cam belt service, A/C service, and refinished the wheels prior to delivery. So apparently my car already made money and I havn't even driven it yet... SCORE
