Hi, I have an early model '87 328 gts. Just wondering about my spare wheel - see attached photo. Should the spare have a ferrari badge in the centre (on the road facing side)? Mine doesn't. Just wondering how it should all look. Many thanks, F Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isn't it supposed to be a space saver spare like the one below? Yours looks full size. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I realize that the pic is not of a later 328 but the wheel in my 328 looks just like it. And it mounts with street side UP.
If it is a US version only the very early 86's had a full size spare. If yours is a US version it should have a space saver spare. The spare wheels did not come with a center cap.
My car is an Australian delivered 328. Is there any way to know for sure what it should have come out with?
No, they did not; it depended on the market of destination (= countries for which the car was initially manufactured), some countries did not accept space-savers; UK cars for instance, as the swiss-market cars, recevied a full size wheel (front wheel, 7 inches) (and sorry for such a late confirmation...) Rgds
Check which color your space-saver wheel should be on your car before decidng: early production cars got a silver one, late production a dark grey/gunmetal one. Rgds
Mine is a late '86 Australian delivered 328. It has the same set-up ie 7" wheel and no Ferrari badge, Image Unavailable, Please Login the same as in your photo!
Thanks @nerofer. I've an Australian delivered 88 328 GTS. I'll hunt around for a gunmetal one. I think I've seen a few.
Well, if your car is an Australian version, then it was delivered with a full-size (front 7 inches) wheel as a spare, not a space-saver; unless you absolutely want the space-saver, your car original spare is a front 7 inches. Rgds
Brilliant. Thanks so much for the advice. Trying to keep things original so I'll hunt around for the full size. Thanks again.
