The engine is coming out of our beast for the works @BRADAN and it occurred to me that now would be the time to upgrade from the factory headers. The previous owner (an Fchatter) had the boys at Evans in Ohio put in a sweet Quicksilver exhaust that wakes up the dead, so I'm thinking why not add even more capacity to her lungs? Anyone else do this, have specific brand or other suggestions? Any ideas much appreciated.

That QS exhaust with straight pipes and no cat is just pure insanity - so raw and loud. I have that setup, but run the QS exhaust with the QS silencers, and its damn loud, but not throw you in jail loud (like your setup).

I am not aware that the aftermarket headers are any gain at all, but can not speak on full authority. I would call Steve @ Driven Exotics, or the Tim at Evans and ask. Both are world class. George built my 91 engine and its a thing of beauty. Steve maintains it.

how much more awake can your Diablo be with that setup??

You could likely swap to a Murcielago manifold. I don't know if there would be a power gain, but the Murci style is closer to equal length and would change the pitch of the exhaust note. You would need to make a connecting pipe from the manifolds to the header-exhaust connection of the Diablo.

It never occurred to me the engines were close enough in dimensions to consider, very interesting.
I'm not necessarily looking for more noise, just more response and better breathing.

My LP640 made significant power gains (+50whp peak & +80whp max) with larger diameter long tube headers and 3" exhaust. But it lost the high pitch scream, so I eventually went back to stock. But have been trying to get 5+ people together for Reiter to make a run of the Murci GT1 headers as they would make more power and keep the exhaust scream.
