Here's a "wild hair" question: Is it possible to convert an early Testarossa's single high mounted mirror to the later lowered dual mirrors? It doesn't seem to be all that difficult. I'd imagine parts cost will be high though.

Has anyone done this conversion, and if so....how?

Wow..most people that see my car ask if I'll ever do the opposite because of the coolness factor

Yes I like the early single mirror cars too....but I like the later twin mirrors just a little better. They aren't as useful as the high mounted mirror though.

It appears like you could remove the little front windows and mount in the later cars plate and mirrors. Not sure how the electrics would go....do the early consoles have a spot for a power mirror button?

Going from a single to dual ? Blasphemy I say!! Ye shall be strung up from the highest yardarm !

It should be relatively easy but at what cost ? Yes the cars do have a console location for the mirror buttons. Just get a dual mirrored car and be done with it. And Jeff, aren't you looking at 5 lugs cars only ? An early Tr catch your eye somewhere ?

Well....yes I have found what "seems" to be a very very very nice early TR. So nice in fact that I am seriously consider buying it.

I've also been offered a like new 2001 Viper GTS that still has the factory warranty till the year 2008. It is a dark blue with silver stripes and has less than 6k miles on it. This is also very tempting....

But I really love Ferraris and I'm thinking if I got a Viper coupe that the newness will wear off after a short while. Where as having a Ferrari, I just don't think that will happen. It's the "newness" of the Viper that is attractive, no dings, no chips, perfect in and out. But it's no Ferrari.
