    In my quest to find a lower mileage 488 I came across a dealer that had one. Being out of state I requested a PPI before flying in to see the car. They found that the car had been painted front and rear in spots…..yet clean Carfax.
    Also suspension was lowered on some unknown springs collars all chewed up from adjusting. Wheel wells were chopped to fit front tires that were rubbing. Some bumper bracket was sticking into the bumper. Then on the service records this year 2023 motor was removed and reinstalled for head gaskets, and headliner replaced. The inspection shop said there so many issues they stopped looking and didn’t want to run up the bill. Needless to say I passed on the purchase but feel the dealer isn’t going to tell the next unsuspecting buyer. They said they would not sell it but later it was still up on eBay. That it wasn’t as bad and they were fixing the issues.

    Should I post up the eBay link and VIN?

    It is one thing if the buyer knows the history but would hate to find out someone didn’t know these key details.

    Thoughts?

    CarFax is quirky. Years back I hit a deer in my pickup. I did over 10K in damage and required a frame pull to fix the truck. That accident is not on the trucks CarFax, even though it was all handled through insurance. A fender bender at a traffic light that didn’t require a trip to the shop, let alone any body work is on the CarFax.

    Just to clarify I already purchased another 488 so just trying to prevent someone else getting blindsided.

    Also not saying it’s a bad car just potential new buyer should be aware.

    I think buying any Ferrari on eBay is a bad move generally

    There are many reasons to repaint one panel or another that are not CarFax issues. I had to repaint one once because the exhaust was too close and it got soot all over it. Another time a child’s bicycle scratched it up. Then there are rock chip issues from driving the car.
