Why does he blur or cover his face in every pic? Is he a celebrity that gets harrassed frequently? Nothing meant by it, just curious as to why someone would want to do this. RMX
So people don't come up to him in the street and ask for a refund on their keys??? I know one thing, he's not as big as a celebrity as you!
I think this is a really interesting thread. Just as a devils advocate. How many people that bought their F-Car used think that the seller was absolutely 100% honest about everything? By the way I collect Ferrari diecast for many years. Bought hundreds off of e-bay and almost every Ferrari offered says "rare". Even if it's a Hotwheels that there are 100 sitting in every Walmart in the country. Bob
Oh, I know one of my Fcars had a TON of fluff behind it...the other was pretty accurately described...I agree with what you are saying...the word 'rare' is a fluff word, because you can interpret so many ways...Fluff (even though most buyers don't want fluff) seems to be a part of selling nowadays...but FACTUAL MISREPRESENTATION...I believe falls in a different category.
I'm a little shocked that some who is involved in a business that's illegal in the US and has to do business in South America because of it, is crying like a baby about an Ebay seller selling car keys and calling him a scammer. Total hypocrite.
You've got to be kidding me. Selling something for more than what you paid for it is a scam???? Geez i guess all those people who are flipping their 430's are scamming the public. That's a damn shame.
The people flipping their 430s aren't scamming the public, but they are breaking trust with Ferrari. Ferrari builds fewer cars than the public is willing to buy. They do that so that someone who buys one of their cars will get a decent resale. Ferrari also urges their dealers to sell the cars at no more than retail, and they keep track of people who buy their cars and immediately sell them. Odds are that those folks will have a difficult time getting another new model, especially early in the production run. As for the keys, if he can get a sucker's money for those items, all the more power to him. I can't see the value there, but that's just me. Art
For people living in a free market society there is an awful lot of whining going on about asking prices. Markets in this part of the world are free. That means a sale is made when a buyer and selller agree on the price and other terms of the transaction. If the buyer can get a better deal elsewhere, he is free to go and do so. In this age of internet communication you can research just about any commodity and establish for yourself what it's worth. I say more power to anyone who can do a deal at a greater profit margin than another merchant. The old Latin term, CAVEAT EMPTOR (Buyer Beware) is ALWAYS true in free markets. Put this to bed already!
So what your talking about is sort of like " Buy Low Sell High". Now here's a novel idea. Most of us do it every day. I know I do, but i'm a freeking scammer.
I agree, caveat emptor. My 360s a.c. ECU died today so now I face a $2,500 bill for the part. Lucky all the ones here that aren't going thru this today or else I think must will suffer a stroke.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH SELLING THE KEYS FOR AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE! WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP BRINGING THIS UP? YOU CAN CHARGE AS MUCH MONEY AS YOU WANT FOR ANYTHING YOU HAVE (except tickets in some areas or anything that would do with bribing a public official as well as some other small exceptions) AND IT IS NOT, NOT, NOT, A SCAM. IT IS A FREE MARKET SOCIETY! BUT, willingly and knowingly making a FACTUAL, not fluff, FACTUAL MISREPRESENTATION about a product you are selling in order to induce the sale is fraud.... Its not about the money.
100% correct! It may be an interesting psychological comment on today's society though. People today are so used to 1/2 truths and fluffs that somehow the only thing they pick up on or notice is $. Don't they do this on dateline every once and a while.... the average person tells 20 (?) lies/day...it's the freakin norm. But the second there is a discrepency about $, then things get serious....unreal!
OH - gimme a break. His "misrepresentation" was saying that you can't get the key unless you are an Enzo owner? What a crock! That's no misrepresentation, otherwise how could he get the key? That is pure puffery, nothing else. If you can get a key like that elsewhere, good on you mate. But spare us the the accusations of fraud. Fraud is committed when someone is induced to do or not do something and suffers material financial loss. The money is important, because the legal system as it is structured would set you back at least $10,000 to put in motion an action to recover the $100 you believe you are being defrauded out of. There is nothing more annoying than people who insist on acting "in principle" regardless of the value of the issue at hand. Finger waggers are a curse, and they usually wind up serving in positions of petty power where they wag their fingers at everyone and just make life difficult.
This thread has nothing to do about fraud. It's personal. Someone harbours jealousy toward Jimmy and find whatever reason to disparage him. Jimmy may have questionable business tactics and moments of moronic behavior, but I have never seen him make it personal against anyone else. In this capitalistic society the boy is claiming it's fraud to make a profit. How does anyone afford a Ferrari on this board without making money by selling something for mega-profit? Obviously this boy never dealt with a used car salesman. Maybe he needs parental supervision before trolling on ebay.
AsianBlonde is right, nothing but Jimmy haters. Why not focus on the real scammers on Ebay, like Glassman, who sell repro Ferrari manuals and don't tell buyers that they're copies? Seems they are further down on the food chain.
Syncro, I am going to give you the oppertunity to apologize to me here in public. I have never stated in any of my e-bay sales that I was selling an original manual. In fact you freeking moron, the term MARPARTS MANUAL means in essence a reprinted manual. I find your comments slanderous, being that you have no basis what so ever for the claim you have made against me. So apologize or just shut the Fluk up. You are a true, holier than thou, over virtuous, JACKASS.
