That video on the countach that folks posted got me to thinking. They are COOL looking cars. I have never ridden in or driven one. If anyone knows of one in the Atlanta area, I'll trade a drive in my Daytona for a Countach drive?

How much should a car needing service and some minor stuff like this ebay car bring? $55K? $60K? His asking price of $75K strikes me as dreaming.

Can these cars be reliable at all? How hard are they to work on? I do all my own maintenance and such, the Daytona I have no issues working on.

That guy used to advertise a date with himself in the lambo on ebay. He even posted a sexy pic of himself with no shirt on. Looks like he had no takers.

Looks like a decent car, but 75k seems alittle high.

It does look really nice..But as with anything extoic (as you well know) A PPI is mandatroy. Get it inspected by a good independant shop that knows the CT. The dealer although good..will probbably not know a CT as well as a shop that services older exotics.

But why no shots of the engine compartment? And is it really true you can't have a Lambo in Washington? I thought they had a dealer out there!

It sounds to me as if this is a full euro version snuck into the states. HE may have gotten a title somehow and gotten it registered, but I bet there are no DOT or EPA papers. Anyone know of a good way to check that?

I also know it would not pass emissions and here in GA its another 4 years until that car would be exempt.

Then again, I could always keep the original title and title the car in GA as a kit-car prior to '80 and exempt. Or just lean it out like crazy for the emission test.

I would love to get one of these. Dont know if I would want it long term or not, but if I could buy one, fix up some minor stuff and clean it up well, play with it for 6 months or so and then sell it recovering my costs.... why WOULDNT I want to do that?

As mentioned. That's owned by that tool that sells rides around the block in hopes of getting in your back door. Word on the street is it's been abused and pooly maintained.

you can get around the inspection, but DO NOT change the title or you will never , ever be able to sell the car . why would you title a real one as a kit???

there are ways around the emissions inspections for limited use cars. or move down here where i am, we have no inspections and the cars older than 86 dont require titles anyway........

A.J. should know of a better c/t available in our area. as i posted in your other thread, i have been wanting to just "see" one in person to make damn sure i really want one as i am very close to bieng able to get one.

Jalpa is nice, but it aint no V12!!!!

Damn, it's black, has carbs, has the wing....it's EXACT Countach I want!!! Too bad the description leads me to believe that this guy knows nothing about the car, treats potential buyers as idiots, and makes it seem like the car has never had any maintenance AT ALL. Nothing in the description talks about anything he has done to maintain the car. I wouldn't buy it unless it was one hell of a deal because this car certainly has issues.

    Just my $.02

  16. I inquired about this car several years ago, before he was advertising rides and posting his picture. What I do remember is that the car might not have a title, he never transfered it. It still is in someone else's name. When someone doesn't transfer a car (when I sell it), I will junk the title after a year or two. In Ky, whoever owns it on Jan 1st pays the property tax. The car is not older than 25 years to get out of the epa/dot exemption. The car has big time title problems, that is why he says that "his is a no Lambo state, check your state to see if it is a no Lambo state". Bull Sh*&, what he really means to say is "my car can not be registered in any state, but if you are stupid, please buy this from me as I have been trying to sell it for 4 years". If this helps anyone out there trying to decide, I have been looking for a Countach off and on hard for the last year or so. Good examples sell fairly fast, even fair ones do. They don't take years.

I just sent the guy an email about the price and the conditon of the car. I busted him on the ride selling thing and the "no Lambos in Washington" as well. I questioned him about the title issues. We'll see what his response is. Who knows he may come down with the price after being hit in the face with these issues, to real market value. 75k is getting close to early Diablo money.

Well, my $50K offer was rejected. He said he has declined "many" offers at over $60K. I would be interested in this car even given the minor mechanical and cosmetic issues but the title thing is a potentially big deal.

    Carrreaper....

When I said title it as a kit car, I didnt mean I would submit whatever original title comes with the car or use the correct VIN. I am just thinking of ways you could get a tag for this car here in GA since it clearly will not pass any emissions test. In 4 years its exempt, but between now and then what to do?

GA would not require a title be submitted for registration as the car is over 20 years old so no new title is required. But tag receipt requires emissions. I do not know the specifics about how a kit car gets registered, but it would seem you could register the Lambo as a kit, get around the emissions issues, then in 4 years when its exempt register the real ID ?

Back to the car in question.... I doubt it will sell. These title and EPA/DOT issues scare me, so I imagine they scare most any intelligent buyer.

The car looks good but needs about $25K to be reliable. It has not been maintained.....STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!!

I think you need to drive one to see if you like it.

Their was one at a local shop here and just sitting inside it while idleing it was an oven, this was inside a garage out of the sun, the transmission tunnel in the cockpit transfers alot of heat to the cabin along with the motor and windows that only open 2".

once the car is in the system its near impossible to change big details, including vin and if its " real or a kit". given the info posted above about the wankers title issues, i would stay far, far away from this guy, his business and his car.

Looks like it is sold or taken off the market. If some one did give him 65k and with the one on ebay last month that did not run going for 50k, is is possible. It seems like everybody is looking for a CT with carbs now.

What is a good, everything works,no stories, serviced in the past year, driver 5000s worth?
