I am glad that I am not on that list. This could very well be the end of Ebay once the news channels start to report this story. Not many people will be comfortable giving their info to Ebay or Paypal after this, I know I will be very hesitant.

this is not going to be good for ebay, i have run into to many problems using ebay as little as i do compared to some people, i think it was a great concept but there is no way to enforce anything
it's not just that they were hacked, but the fact that there are so many scammers out there trying to go for the easy buck, ebay really needs to come up with some idea that will stop this dead in it's tracks.
I think we're jumping to conclusions here. I doubt eBay was "hacked". More likely, its one of the groups who send out those fake emails with an angry "ask seller a question" where you click respond and you go to a non-eBay site that looks like eBay. They are probably trying to damage eBay and therefore are just posting a list of users. They say 1100 names on the list. eBay has tens if not hundreds of millions of registered users. That is minute fractions of one percent of their database. Look at the paranoia already in this thread. Thats the intended effect. It would not be the "end of eBay" nor is it likely even a successful hack of eBay.
I agree with SRT Mike. I've lost track of how many scam e-mails I've gotten, supposedly from ebay, designed to get you to provide info. Same thing for Paypal, when I had an account with them. As mentioned above, I limit my exposure by using one specific credit card with a low limit for all my on-line use. I did the same for Paypal, but when I hit a total of $1K paid through them, they sent me a notice requiring me to give them my bank account information if I wanted to do further Paypal business, even though my credit card account was paid up as always. For reasons like those above, I would not give bank account info on-line. In fact, the demand seemed so silly I thought it was another scam, but no - Paypal really bounced two subsequent attempted purchases after I would not provide the bank info. So no more Paypal for me, unless the guy on the other end has a Paypal account that lets me provide my credit card to it. Anyone can create a list like the one above. Just look at a bunch of items for sale on ebay and note the seller and bidder ID's. Of course, if my ID were on the list, I probably would not feel quite so calm....
Yeah, who knows. These names with their credit card numbers/etc were posted on e-bays "Trust and Safety Harbor" forum. Some people are saying the numbers were legit, while some say the numbers weren't. But the question begs, if someone called you and asked if that was your real CC number, would you admit it? Probably not.
now that i stop and think about it, i'm sure if ebay were actually hacked, we'd of heard a lot more about it, both from ebay and on the news.

I tried to log into my eBay account and was prompted to change my password, which I did. I thought that was strange. I had NO sales all of yesterday and did not think much of it. In checking one of my email accounts, I get an eBay email that told me my account had been hacked and it is suspended (Which I was unaware of). It asked that I clicked a link to eBays Live Help. A Live Help guy popped on and started asking me questions. Thinking that this still could be a scam, I asked him personal questions on my account that only eBay would know. (QT3141, I did not ask him if he was in India). He passed my questions and I answered his. He told me that somebody listed a Plymouth Duster on my account and the account was locked out by eBay (The seller was in a different state and this flagged eBay, which was cool!). After about ten minutes with the live help guy, he unlocked my account. I then posted a note on all my listings stating that the account was locked due to a hacker. It does not look good to prospective buyers when they try to buy something and get a notice that the sellers account is suspended. I looked on the list of hacked accounts and mine was not on it.
Somone got into my account. I always delete all the ebay and paypal scam e-mails, however someone still got my password. Ebay caught and deleted three auctions yesterday that were posted on my account. All three auctions were cars. Someone trying to sell Caddys via my account. I deleted all my financial information (credit cards and bank accounts) from ebay and paypal on Friday. I got an e-mail from ebay saying they needed me to change my password (they acutally blocked my account until I did so). They also said that none of my financial info was comprimised. This may be the end of my ebay days.
No issues with mine, I checked EBay, paypal, & my separate bank account for EBay only. I also get nore than my share of scam emails from where ever, just always be sure to check the address where it's coming from then report it.
