    For This Week

    11 308's
    6 328's
    6 Mondial's
    1 348 (spider)
    13 F355's (nearly all spiders)
    58 (!) 360's
    55 (!) 430's

Nothing more to add, other than I'd hate to be selling a newer V-8 Ferrari.

As I suspected, the "down" cycle has ended for the 348/355 cars and they're going up and people are holding on to them (as they should) They won't become gems like Dinos and Daytonas but I expect a 3 digit average within the next 5 years easily.

The 360/430 "down" cycle is beginning and the downfall may be more brutal given the high production numbers and diversified market.

I agree. Prices on 360's have been dropping VERY quickly last 3-4 months.

I don't believe that at all. For all the innovation that was the 355 the 360 had similar innovations to evolve the Ferrari V-8's to the next level. 355 guys should hope the 360 stays lofty or when the prices of 355's and 360's get closer to parity the value damning 355 reputation will rear its ugly head yet again with a whole new crop of players. Higher 360 prices mean higher 355 prices.

With all due respect, Carl - I honestly feel the 360 market has no influence on the 355 market. Most that appreciate the 355 don't feel the same about the 360

Value threads will always bring out the most drama on Fchat. So I'm sure we will have pages of opinions after this one.

I agree that the 360 had many "improvements" and innovations over the 355. We can also agree that the 360 challenge cars were faster around most tracks than the 355 challenge and this repeats itself every new model.

But I believe that 355 and 360 prices or values can be independent and do not have to be tied together - because of intangibles not based on "technology" or performance numbers. Just like some value gated cars more than F1's or vice versa, or the general look or style of a car, sound, or feel.

I would pay more for a 355 than a 360 any day of the week. I would pay more for a 348 than a 360 too... They'll be close in pricing before you know it. Doesn't mean that I don't like 360's. I just don't value them equally. I'd spend $40,000 on a digital camera where some would select one for $400. Doesn't make either wrong.

The fact that Britney Spears owned a 360, their numbers made, and their reputed throw-away nature might be equally damning for future 360 values as the 355 maint reputation / some deserved / some not for each car.

You can't disagree with the market numbers. 355's are heading up. 360's are heading down. One reason there are a lot of 360's for sale - owners are hurrying to sell them before they lose much more. They still have more to drop.

Anything positive to say about 355's at all fatbillybob?

    Robb

That's my personal opinion. I've seen clean 360's go for less than what I'm paying for a 95 Berlinetta. They (360's) just don't appeal to me.

    Britney Spears had/has a 360???
Wonder who has that car now?
Would you pay more/less for an ex-Britney car?
Would a perv pay more for an ex-Britney car?
Should we start a new thread on the Britney 360?????
Questions, questions....darn, and it's just Tuesday night. I've got the rest of the week to obsess about this.....
This thread is worthless without a pic of Britney and her 360!

Maybe. However, many times you see a newbie fishing on the 348/55 board who have done no research and their stop here is because they think they have the budget. There are so many people who want to bee seen in a Ferrari and are not lovers of a particular model, despite the fact that each Ferrari model have great attributes that contribute to the lineage. I huge number of people start their first look at Ferraris on what they think they can afford then convince themselves of the model. I'm pretty much certain that if 360's get on parity with 355's most will go for the 360. However, there will always be lovers of the 355 above all else, just like any of the models.

Let's not forget that with the 360 came the era of pushing sales, heavy merchandising/marketing days for Ferrari and that many will consider the 348/355 or even the 328 as the last "real" Ferrari.

The fact that it's a better car, faster and more advanced has little to do with value. If we were interested in good fast cars we'd all be driving Porsches. Truth is many do like being seen in a Ferrari and/or buy one because of the name and mystique it carries.

Lastly, every model will be sought after when it is introduced, after a decade or so it's neither a novelty nor a classic and the interest for it slumps and value goes down until it gets close to being a classic, an icon when the model gets 20-25 years old and then prices go up again.

I'm one of those people torn between the two models (355/360).

In Berlinetta form, to me the 355 is the best looking modern Ferrari ever made. The sound it makes with cat bypass + aftermarket muffler is unparalleled in Ferrari V8 past and present. In spider form, I prefer the looks of the 360.

I haven't driven a 355 (yet) but the 360 coupe has an amazing chassis and I suspect it is vastly superior to the 355B in this regard if the on paper stats are to be believed. I also believe the 360 has a broader torque curve / more usable power band.

Ergonomics / driver fit favors the 360 by a huge margin for me (I am 6-2 with long legs).

Then there is the maintenance, which I think we can all agree is in favor of the 360 by some good margin.

I really need to get a spirited drive of a sorted 355B, but even though the 360 is probably the "better" choice, unless the drive of the 355B disappoints me, I would put up with the high running costs and poor driver fitment and all of the other "flaws" of the 355 because it just takes my breath away in style and sound, it sends my blood pressure through the roof!

Interesting statement. Do 355 guys think their cars are of the modern era of Ferrari or Classic, as in the final culmination of classic lines of pinninfarina?

Charlie Sheen owned a 355 GTS.

So the whole point was that both he and Britney Spears didn't do the 355 or 360 any favors.
