Hi all, it seems this part for my 2008 599 is virtually impossible to obtain globally.
Has anyone got any ideas where to obtain one? I believe a lot of people are searching, incl Maserati owners with similar problems.
    Thanks, Nick

Thanks, I got a reply from them advising it was restricted with the factory & can only source from main dealer direct or via the Classiche Factory. Seemed strange, but if they won’t sell it to me what can you do eh!! Maybe it’s their way of saying they don’t have it?? Cheers

Thanks, I’ll check it out! Seems like it’s possibly only suitable as a unit for repair… I’ll check with an ecu repair specialist. Cheers!

Ah, my bad - I never read the description. That seems quite expensive then for a duff ecu!

All good! Still hunting! Must admit it’s slightly damaged my passion for Ferrari cars. The car is only 14 years old, so what does this say for all the thousands of Ferrari owners that may be seeking spare parts for cars older than 10 years!! And being electronic rather than mechanical, it’s not as though it’s easy to manufacture…

Thanks! I think we’ve contacted them but they don’t actually have it in stock. Eurospares list everything, whether in stock or not. Appreciate your advices, will follow up with them again…. Cheers, Nick

Thanks, and we’ll spotted!! I’ve contacted them requesting a hold & shipping costs to NZ. Really appreciate your assistance. It’s now almost 5 months my car has been off the road waiting for this part! It is required in order to pass its Warrant of Fitness. Must admit, this is a terrible look for Ferrari, no parts available - Why buy the latest Ferrari if you can’t get parts in 12 years time!! Cheers

How did you determine it was defective. Honest question because I want to know.

It came up as a fault on the main screen. Replaced all the valve senders, still not working. Service department got one from another 599, which worked! Sent unit away to see if repairable, which it wasn’t. Hence search for a replacement…. Cheers!

Good stuff. Any issues then I’m fine to buy it here and post it on to NZ for you if they won’t.

Tell me about it! This past July on my way up to the FCA Annual Experience in Mont Tremblant in my 2008 612 Scaglietti OTO an oil line to the F1 transmission burst. I had the car brought to Ferrari of Quebec. They had the car for a month and could not locate the part. I finally had the car brought back to the US to my independent mechanic. They had the part made for $267.

The ironic thing is he said the manufactured part is better quality than the original Ferrari part.

Yes… some mechanical parts are relatively easily made, like the re-make on the second & third gear of my ‘86 Testarossa some years ago. But these ecu units are tricky, mini computers really. Anyway, hopefully this unit ex UK will do the job… … btw, this parts problem has been escalated to Maranello - & rightly so. Do they (Ferrari) really think their cars will never need spares in the future??

The thinking at Ferrari is that speed is number one, style is number two, comfort is number three. Longevity? Not even in their vocabulary.

Does anyone know if a TPMS ECU from a 458/California/FF etc... will work in a 599 or 612? I see that the label on the 599 ECU says TSS/SG-G3/1 and on the 458 ECU it says TSS/SG-G3/2. Has anyone tried this swap? I am wondering how common the firmware is. There are also BMW units that appear to be similar.

Hi, I don’t know if the Ferrari parts are interchangeable however we did try a BMW part, but wasn’t compatible. I was lucky to find a used working item on eBay. Best of luck with your search, very hard to find. I also think Ferrari have a dilligaf attitude! Cheers
